Drag X Plus is essentially an updated version of the Drag X, The Plus version can accommodate large 21700 batteries for greater autonomy of vaping.

According to VooPoo The newly updated GENE.FAN 2.0 chip has more explosive power, more stable output and more intelligent functions than the previous generation.

Drag X Plus Kit uses the new TPP Pod Tank as on the Drag 3 Kit.
The new TPP Pod Tank uses the increased Coils of the TPP series and has a capacity of 5.5ml.

Drag X Plus through the universal 510 connector supports many types of tanks; TPP platform (TPP pod tank), PnP platform (PnP pod tank, PnP MTL pod, PnP RTA pod) and 510 platform (You can use your favorite atomizer.)

First Impressions:
Looking at the newcomer we can see the common form factor with the previous "Drag series"

I have always thought that Drag X and Drag S are excellent devices, VooPoo is responsible for the explosion of this fashion of magnetic tanks with circular design.

More or less all manufacturers have copied it and some have anticipated it on some solutions such as the removable Drip-Tip or the 21700 cell.

But VooPoo did not stand by and finally updates its flagship product with the 21700 cell and replaceable Drip Tip. The amazing thing is that the size and weight have not increased significantly from before! Drag X Plus is one of the most portable Mod 21700 ever.

Many users with previous Drag X and Drag S were looking for 510 adapters to be able to install their Tank MTL on the Drag X and Drag S. VooPoo certainly noticed these user requests and with the Drag X Plus remedied them in the best possible way.

VooPoo therefore also renews the tank (TPP Pod Tank), the same tank used on the new dual battery Drag 3 and offers new gigantic coils that promise big clouds and long life.
The Drag X Plus uses a 510 type fixed attachment, so we are talking about a Mod in all respects, we can only talk about Pod referring to the TPP Pod Tank which is equipped with a universal 510 magnetic base.

Line and style:
Drag X Plus features a zinc alloy frame construction and an ergonomic leather handle.
Front. X Plus uses a vibrant 0.96 inch color (TFT) screen that clearly shows vaping data and offers the ability to display two different themes; Vertical display (Iron) or horizontal display (Core), really nice as an idea. the layout of the Type-C socket and the “+” and “-” keys remains identical to the previous version.

On the back, the large DRAG inscription hot stamped on the leather is enriched with an "X" and a "PLUS". A decorative plate at the top of the frame which once again shows the word "Drag" replaces the AFC adjustment knob, was present on the previous version.

Laterally the seams on the leather insert disappeared and given the absence of a cartridge there are no longer even the air inlet slots.
The words “Gene Chip Mode” and “VooPoo” remain, one on each side.

Connection 510 and batteries:
The upper part of the X Plus sees the presence of a 510 cup with floating pin, the cup is screwed to the mod using two Torx screws and is slightly raised to avoid scratches when screwing / unscrewing the tanks. Atomizers up to 29mm diameter can be installed without protruding.

The method to access the compartment / batteries is always the reliable one of the first model (method; press, slide and lift) with the positive pole facing inwards.

The new Drag X Plus as already mentioned offers a double choice of 18650 or 21700 batteries, the previous version could only exploit a 18650 cell, this factor was certainly penalizing using the mod at wattages higher than 50W. If you want you can still use a 18650 cell on the X Plus through a convenient adapter included in the kit.

TPP Tank Platform:
The new base with 510 thread uses two oversized and fully adjustable air flow slots to maximize the overall atomization efficiency combined with the new resistors. The base with 510 connection is designed to accommodate all the cartridges of previous models; PnP tank pod, PnP MTL tank pod, and PnP RTA pod.

TPP Tank exploded view:
Composed of zinc alloy and transparent PCTG, the Tank has gained a replaceable 810 drip-tip, the drip-tip has two sealing rings and fits well in the Top-Cap, the visibility of the internal liquid is optimal thanks to the good transparency of tank PCTG. TPP Tank uses the usual and tested magnetic system for connection to the base with refill from below. The coils are always inserted with the "Press and Pull" method.

TPP Coil:
Both new TPP Coils exploit the "Mesh" technology and have large windows for the absorption of the liquid, in the photo below you can also see the dimensional difference with the PnP Coil.

Vaping test:

- Coil TPP-DM1, 0.15Ω 60-80W (Best 65-75W):
GENE.FAN 2.0 with Smart mode this coil is activated at 65W and as soon as you start to vape you hear a whistle in the distance that is that of a train full of aroma and steam, after a few minutes the valley is filled with an impressive blanket of fog , you will feel like swimming in a sea of strawberries and bananas. A show!

- Coil TPP-DM2, 0.2Ω 40-60W (Best 50-55W):
GENE.FAN 2.0 with Smart mode this coil is activated at 50w, the aromatic yield is equally record-breaking, I find very few differences compared to the 0.15Ω, I am sincere and apart from a slightly "fresher" vapor I would not know the difference without reading the display!

With both these Super-coils and to avoid excessive condensation phenomena, I would advise you to stick to the wattages recommended by VooPoo, the Puff is very greasy and humid, vaping at too low wattages you run the risk that the coil does not vaporize the liquid correctly, creating a supercharging effect.

Having said that, all you have to do is fully enjoy your liquids.

VooPoo Drag X Plus operating guide:
On the screen (Iron Theme) you can see; in the upper left the word "Drag", in the upper right the charge level of the cell, further down are the watts and the mode used Smart (S) or RBA (R).
There are also the total number of puffs, coil value (Ω), voltage (V), duration of the last puff and a graphic equalizer of the puff [p].
The power is adjustable from 5 to 100W with an increase / decrease of 1W at a time.

Key combination:
- Five clicks on the Fire button to turn the mod on / off.
- Three clicks on the fire button to choose between Smart mode or RBA mode.
1) Smart Mode (yellow screen) Gene Chip automatically sets the coil to the optimum wattage and prevents an adjustment above the physical limit of the coil by indicating "Max Power" on the display.
2) RBA mode (blue screen) Allows you to freely adjust the power.
- Puff reset, click the "-" and Fire keys at the same time.
- To view the ID and Level code, press the Up, Down and Fire buttons simultaneously.
- To quickly lock the screen press the "+" and Fire keys simultaneously.
- To change the theme press the "-" and "+" keys simultaneously, select "Iron" for the classic display view, select "Core" to view the display horizontally.

Final remarks.
I think the new Drag Plus is the most portable Mod 21700 ever, it maintains the high level of charm and finishes of the previous generation, the new Chipset works as well as the previous one, maybe even better! The sprint at the touch of the fire button is immediate and the power delivery curve is beautifully linear, the battery is managed very well during its cycle, ensuring a considerable duration even at rather high powers.
The brightness of the screen allows an easy reading of the data, I really like the new "Core Theme" feature.
The new Tank uses the TPP platform which makes all previous Tanks compatible.
Needless to add the wonderful performance of the new TPP Mesh Coil, fantastic!
The screen lock feature does not allow you to vape and that is probably the only limitation of this wonderful e-cig.

Hi. After firmware update (wich as of today shows "factory version", not V1.0.0.1) how do you change mode to TC? Tried everything and cannot find the button combination. I hoped it will work the same way as for change from Smart to RBA (3 clicks), but id does not work. Thanks for your review!

Yes, the procedure was ok. I suspect Voopoo found some problems in TC firmware, because on their site the firmware is labelled now "factory version". If you still have the one that has TC enabled, please upload it here (change the extension to .pdf version). Thanks!
