I've got to defend smok, I have the smok G-Pri the RBA deck comes with 2 SS Clapton coils total resistance of .40 ohms, it works great with it and any resistance value SS in temp mode.
On the TCR value I do believe that I saw a review for the Voopoo Review that said the temps wore right where they should be. I'll have to read the manual and give the new value a try. The Voopoo only goes down to 1000, set it to
1300 since 1000 does very little heating.

Is there any way to lock the settings? I'm constantly going into the settings (I guess I'm not fast enough, it seems to catch the 3rd click). I'm not the biggest fan of this mod because of the square corners, but I "trusted" the store that this was a great mod and he didn't even offer to let me hold it first, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it. And of course there's no returns.

In response to the above post I'll say I'm sorry you're not happy with the Voopoo. I had to wait a few years to get a mod that would really handle the SS coils, the Smok was the first mod to do that but was double the price of the Voopoo which also can handle the SS. The Voopoo has become my go to mod for vaping and just heating the SS coils makes everything quicker and easier. A great value for the price.

I'm still very much a rookie. Do you know of a site that explains what the terms like SS and the rest of them? Also, do you know how I can lock the buttons so I don't accidently go into the settings?

SS = Stainless Steel. There is probably an acronym/abbreviations thread around here somewhere.

According to the Drag PDF manual you press Fire and Up together for 1.5 seconds to lock it.

Thank you for the response. I did finally figure it out with the help of Youtube videos. I also found a list of acronyms but what I'm really looking for is the holy grail of what to set some of the settings to for a starting point. About the only thing I've changed is the watts, from 40 to 50 watts. That seems to give me more of a cloud.

It depends on your build and your preference. Start low and work your way up if vaping in wattage mode. Or build with temp control wire and use temp control (TC) mode then set a temp (I vape between 420 and 470 fahrenheit), a high enough wattage for quick ramp up depending on the ohms of your build, and let the chip do the work like I do on regulated devices. These days I only vape single battery squonkers: mechs with low ohm builds or SS wire in TC mode where I don't build quite as low so my battery will last longer. Once I get a few more RSQ mods the mechs will likely get shelved along with the dozen or two other non squonk devices I have bought over the years.

My Voopoo fell in the bathroom sink, I pulled it out quickly took out the batteries and let it sit for a few hours, when I tried it the screen didn't look right so I turned on the stove and let it sit on top of the warm stove. I unscrewed and lifted the plastic a little to let moisture out.
When I put it back together it worked fine for a short while then the up down buttons weren't working correctly. Liked it and ordered another that should arrive later today. Shouldn't have lifted the plastic, might have been okay if I didn't. Live and learn. I downloaded the software again to put my name in at startup.

I got my new Voopoo and have been using it all day yesterday. I had to look through the manual to change the display and also came across the lock function. Press the Fire button and up button at the same time for 1.5 s and it will lock, pressing both again unlocks it. This locks the device and it can not be fired or the settings changed. Smok does this differently, their lock will not let settings change but it can still be fired but over twice the price. I downloaded the software and still want to put my name in the display.

I've noticed changes in mode after setting it aside or in my pocket, I really don't use the lock mode that much. Smok has a simple push button for locking which is much better but it cost twice the price.

That didn’t really help me. U cant even take a hit while its locked. If u need to lock it, just turn it off honestly...
