OK, so I bagged on GotVapes a little b/c of the problems I've had with their Turbine, but I've got to give them some credit on the Vortex. I got my Vortexes today and am currently vaping my FreedomSmokeUSA RY4. Gotta say it's pretty nice. More flavor and vapor than the eGo tank I was using. No leaks so far. I'm liking it a lot. Really looking forward to getting my Infinity next week and trying these with a little higher voltage. I know some other people have had issues with the Vortex, but thus far (two hours), mine's been great.

Good luck, I had no luck with either. I agree the vape was great with the vortex. My first cartridge lasted me a few hours the night I received it, I must have topped it off about 3-4 times. The next morning it wouldn't vape, I figured I clogged it with the VG/PG mix I was using. My second cartridge leaked and when I tried to remove it from my rough stack, the tank came off in my hands and I gave up. I still have 3 cartridges left, I should give them a try.

If it's worth a little tinkering to you...the first time will take 10 minutes or so figuring it all out...but after that it takes less time than packing a 510 cart :)

The Vortex can be cleaned up if it gets clogged.
I just pull mine apart, remove the ALF filler and throw it away (that's the part that is probably clogging on you) and drop the bits in a cheap ultrasonic jewelry cleaner for 9 minutes (three 3min cycles).

Leaks can be fixed.
I use Teflon Plumber's tape...99cents a roll at your hardware store. Orderless tasteless non-toxic stuff that is used in water and gas (even hospital O2 setups) pipe threads...so it's safe!

I just give the base a couple of wraps starting just below the wicks and pull it tight. That tape acts alot like cling wrap...

Slide the tubes back on. You can even let the inner tube ride a little higher to give more wicking space if you use really thick juices. Trim the excess tape away.

When juice hits the teflon tape, it'll turn clear. You'll have a nice snug fit, and it's not going to leak :)

Putting it all back together and adding the tape/seal is much easier if you screw the atomizer on a battery and then work on it.

And so it goes...at this time, if you want wicks instead of poly filler...some tweaking is to be expected for an optimal vape.

I have been following a few posts over at the Got Vapes section here about the Vortex and in one of the posts they're discussing that cinnamon & possibility some citric flavors are causing the glue to dissolve between the tube and base. If this is true, I was using a Big Red Flavor, and this could explain the problem I had with my second tank.

Definately...I have a Cinnimon flavor that eats almost everything it touches...not just the Vortex, but also my drip tips and tanks :( It's one of my favorite flavors too...so I keep a metal carto for that.

Definitely have to remember Credo's post above. Very useful. Thanks. So far, I've been vaping tobacco flavors exclusively, and I don't like cinnamon, so that won't be a problem. The tip is OK. I think I like it better than the whistle tips on the tanks I'd been using. I think I've been vaping a little too much this afternoon. :)
