I'm glad to hear...do you have any place in particular you buy wire and wick or mesh? No idea really were to begin or what works best for that matter...thanks for your reply

Sent from the cab of a x-ray rig bored out of my mind!

I search ebay for both ss mesh and wire.

Ditto, for less then the price of a 3x3 square 400 mesh I have seen around, I picked up a 12x12 sheet.

Back again to share some photos and details.

First the specs:

Birkshire
Height: 54.75mm
Base dia.: 22.2mm
Top plate dia.: 22.2mm
cap dia.: 22mm
tank dia.: 19.95mm
tank wall thick.: 2.45mm
Tank height: 22.9mm
Total weight:67.10gm

AGA Tiamat
Height: 55.70mm
Base dia.: 22.90mm
Top plate dia.: 22.90mm
cap dia.: 22.80mm
Tank dia.: 19.95mm
Tank wall thick.: 2.45mm
Tank height: 22.9mm
Total weight:82.20 gm

So the Birkshire is slightly smaller, almost insignificant. But is is quite a bit lighter.

BpartFV.jpgTpartsFV.jpg

You can see from the photos (Birkshire on left; Tiamat on right) the different taper in the top cap. Also, the center post is markedly different. The top plate is almost identical, except the threading for the cap is finer on the Birkshire. You can also notice the smaller pattern in the knurling of the Birkshire. The base of the Birkshire is shorter than the Tiamat; but the Birkshires's top cap is a bit longer. The positive posts look identical, along with all the screws (not shown) and knurled nuts.

BpartsTV.jpgTpartsTV.jpg

In these photos, it is a little hard to see, but the Birkshire (on the left again) has a bit more stock removed from inside the base. The difference in the center post is more evident.

I will post part 2 which shows close ups of the top cap and base in a little more detail, since I could not upload all photos at once.

These photos are close-ups of just the cap and base.

Note the stock removed from the base in the Birkshire (on the left). Also the thread difference in the cap; the Birkshire has a thinner wall, where better machining has been employed. The Tiamat is very thick walled!

This photo shows the relative size of the caps and bases. Note the shorter base on the Birkshire, along with the different taper of the top cap. Knurling is different, too.

I would say that they are; there is no sign of tooling marks and the finish appears stainless.

I have confirmed that the center post is NOT made of stainless! I went about polishing it and the faint glow of brass started to come through! It is obviously chrome-plated brass. Shame, as all the other parts seem to be stainless. Not sure about the pos pin, though - it could also be chrome-plated brass.

GotVapes Birkshire CRT CLEAR Rebuildable Atomizer Tank 3ml Stainless Steel
$29.95

Introducing the Birkshire CRT CLEAR Stainless Steel Buildable/Rebuildable Atomizer!

This is a true Stainless Steel tank, not chrome plated. Each Birkshire CLEAR weighs a hefty 2.3 ounces and can be completely disassembled. It has excellent quality parts throughout and is very well sealed. Each Birkshire CLEAR kit comes with a coil/wick packet that provides extra replacement o-rings, coil and wick, seals and an extra screw.

Two ports are present for either ends of a wick but if you wish to use a single piece of mesh, one of the ports has a philips head screw. These screws are NOT tiny and can be easily removed and replaced with a regular screw driver.

The Birkshire is only asembled with its hardware and is not pre-coiled and wicked. You will become adept at changing out coil and wick the more you use it until it becomes a bit second nature. How this unit performs is entirely how you assemble and your skills at coiling and wicking. As such there is no warranty on this or other RBA's.

The Birkshire ships without any sort of a drip tip. It will receive most 510 drips tips (it is pictured with a ming tip on the left).

What you receive:
  • Birkshire CRT CLEAR RBA Stainless Steel Buildable Atomizer Tank - 3ml+
  • One coil/wick pack with ~2.2-2.5ohm coil and extra hardware and seals/o-rings.

I just read a post in the Modding section from someone who is in a co-op in the UK and they are getting the center posts that are made of stainless steel from a manufacturer in China. Any chances of GotVapes getting some in stock so that we could have a fully SS Birkshire?
