Personally, I'd avoid anything with *fire* in the name. I have a couple of UltraFire batteries that shipped with a kit, and they don't last as long as an AW 18350.

Check some of Baditude's posts about batteries, he's done extensive research.

Please don't skimp on batteries. The cheapos don't last long and can actually be hazardous. I've good luck with AW IMR batteries as well as Efest.

Let the above be your guide. Genuine AW and Efest IMR (I say "genuine" because both are being counterfeit on a large scale) will continue to be your best bet.
RTD Vapor is a great place for both genuine batteries... and to look at all the best quality chargers on one site. Another source for genuine batteries is Lighthound... a flashlight vendor, but a very good one.

Thank you guys for the responses. Are there any decent ones on amazon? I have credit on there so thats why I'm wondering.

Also, Reading some of baditudes blog posts about batteries, and saw some exploding. This is kinda sketching me out about using this mod now. Is it mainly from cheap batteries?

Edit: it's also saying there are a bunch of "rules" with these batteries. Don't overcharge, don't overdischarge, recharge drained batteries ASAP (what if I'm on the go and don't have my charger?) Are they really this touchy?

VTRs, like all Innokin products, have an excellent quality and reliability record... so I wouldn't be to concerned. Charge a good quality battery on an equally good quality charger... and they'll hold that charge almost indefinitely.
The main concern is to not over discharge them. You have a over discharge circuit (low voltage warning) on the VTR... so it's almost impossible to do.

Many of the "warnings" are more concerning battery use in unregulated mech mods.

:thumb: The charger is an excellent choice.

:nah: The battery you chose...not so good.

The Panasonic NCR18650B 3400 mah battery is not a "high drain" battery. High drain batteries are needed for regulated mods like your VTR. This is because they use Pulse Width Modulation boost circuitry to regulate voltage output. Why High Drain Batteries?

IMR and hybrid batteries are also known as "high drain", "safe chemistry", and "unprotected".

Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries

Don't skimp on batteries or a charger. They are the most important part of your setup. Below are recommended IMR or hybrid batteries; pay attention to model numbers:

AW IMR

Panasonic or Orbtronic hybrid
CGR18650CH (IMR/hybrid) 2250mAh 10A
NCR18650PF (LiNiCOMnO2) INR/ICR/IMR Hybrid 2900mAh 10A
NCR18650PD (LiNiCoAl) 2900mAh 10A
Orbtronic 18650 SX22 (hybrid) 2000mAh 22A

Sanyo
UR18650EX 2000mAh 20A

Samsung hybrid (LiNiCoMnP)
INR18650-22P 2200mAh 10A

Sony hybrid

Thank you for the info, I'm probably going to pick up one of those listed batteries. But is it safe to use that battery I already purchased for a while until I get one of the high drain batteries? It should be coming in today and I really want to try this VTR. If I was to use the panasonic batteries for a little while would it cause any damage to the device (or blow my face off)??

Besides blowing up in your hand or frying the VTR and ruining it, and maybe your face? Na, no probs at all, probably even get one or two good vapes before all hell breaks lose, and someone is calling 911 or something, go ahead, do you fell lucky, you are now holding one of worlds most powerfull explosive devices. Hey I know, why don't you try and hook it up to a car battery instead, probably be just as safe.

This is MOSTLY a true statement. Sadly, there is a problem with SOME VTRs that is not easily fixed. Here is my thread on the problems I've had with it, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/493429-vtr-not-even-72-hours-yet-uh-oh.html. Google searches turn up more, but I won't (can't?) post them here. I am currently awaiting an RMA for mine. Too bad, I really like the way it feels in my hand, but I think I am going to wait for the VTR V2 before trying again. It's just too pricey for me to not work right all the time. Of course, this is a risk with any mass produced product, not just the VTR. YMMV!

Good luck with yours!

I was just asking because I'm very new to all of this and saw a lot of issues using wrong batteries with certain devices...

And I did read that thread you posted, sorry to hear that. I'll be seriously disapointed if I have any issues with mine.

Panasonic CGR18650CH IMR 2250mAh all the way. They supply most 2nd party Vendors with batts- they are then re wrapped. As far as UltraFire they are low grade batts and according to tests are frequently advertised as having a higher mah then in reality. Here's a Vid:

Look at it this way...would you buy used bald tires for your new car?

Thats the exact battery that came w/ my vtr. I suspect your probably just puffing a couple protanks a day, nothing that requires extra power. So it will work. Wont last any longer than the 2250mah that baditude mentioned. Which I bought based on his recomendation. Thx bad. And I love my vtr.

snet frm ny lttle phond with my stibby fungers!!
