I am currently using ego 650mah twists and I'm looking to move on to something that is a little shorter and easier to fit in a pocket. I really dig the carto tanks I'm using for longevity of vaping, but the ego batteries are just not doing it for me.

I've been looking into "mods" and other VV batteries and my head is spinning. I am looking for recommendations on a new system. I'd perfer something that can accept carto tanks with a long life battery. Pass-through charging would be great as I'm looking for a "does everything" solution. So, Ideally I would use it as a primary and have an ego or two as a backup. I think a prvari or similar is too bulky, but I like the looks of some of the boxes I've seen.

Any suggestions are welcomed, and any suppliers or site I should be looking at are much appreciated. I know there are a lot of threads on this, but it gets pretty damn confusing after a couple hours of searching.

I just ordered an Ovale / Segelei V8 Incremental VV Segelei V8 Incremental VV Body - Black Rubberized

It's a gripper box mod, rubberized plastic body, variable voltage with LED display, front fire button (also functions as an on-off button), power up/power down buttons. Ohm meter, volt meter. Comes with a 510-eGo adaptor included. Uses 2 - 18350 imr nipple top (700 mah) batteries (not included). Optional leather pouch/lanyard available on DV site for $9. Price is $29.

I got 2 pairs of AW batteries at $7.60 a piece and a plastic battery case from RTD Vapor. http://www.rtdvapor.com/online-store/batteries/aw-imr-18350-3-7v-55-detail?limitstart=0&limit=int&showall=1

There's an active forum for these here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/302456-ovale-v8-vv-discussion.html and most owners seem to love theirs. Mine will replace a Smoktech VV Gripper whose control buttons fell into the mod after only 7 weeks of use. I needed a replacement for my away from home, out-and-about vaping and this is the best option available for me. My Provari stays home most of the time.

There is the Smoktech Groove coming out sometime soon. It's a upgraded new model to their VV Gripper. It will have VV & VW. It also will have the built-in rechargeable battery like the MVP. Expected to cost around $80, although there is no real info on these yet. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/369258-smoktech-groove-vv-vw-mod-just-vaporware.html

I'm not a fan of the built-in battery mods. Like an eGo, it will have a limited number of lifetime charges to it, and then likely need to be discarded. And also like an eGo, you need to have a backup device with you should the battery drain. I like mods that use replaceable, rechargeable batteries...that's just my own preference.

I know you said you weren't interested in a tube mod and wanted something with a passthru. The MVP fits that criteria.

The Mini Provari is short and pretty much an All-in-One VV APV. It might be out of your financial budget. I understand that, I've been wanting one myself for a few months but due to other fiscal responsibilities I haven't been able to rationalize one.

I received my MVP this morning from USPS. Vaporbeast has amazing shipping time. I ordered this kit around 1pm on Tuesday and received the package at 10:30am today. The kit was $65 and the $5.14 shipping was paid by vaporbeast. So far I'm very happy with the size, build quality, and weight. It's smaller than I though, and it fits in a pocket very easily (muck like an older cell phone). I switch between vivi novas with 2.4 or 2.8 ohm heads and smoketek DCT dual 1.5 carts. This device seems to meet all my needs. Time to see how long the charge will last.
