I'm looking for a mod that essentially would adjust the voltage
output on a USB port for a passthrough e-cig.

Some of my 808 cartos do not perform well at 5v. So dropping
the voltage from the USB to the e-cig device is desired.

A VV passthrough would also work. But it would be easier to
simple add a voltage-stepping device between the USB port
and my existing passthrough.

Anyone seen something along these lines?

You should check out vapormoon.com, home of the Saber Touch. They have a passthrough insert for their mods including a vv unit. They also carry an ac adapter for the PT that allows you to change the voltage. It's easier to take a look than have me explain it. Another nice feature is that they offer a high power option if you like low resistance atomizers and dual coil cartomizers. It cranks out 5 amps! That's significantly higher than all the competition. Here's a link...

Awesome! Thanks!

Yea, the high power option would also help. I picked up some
dual coils cartomizers thinking that might work well for me at
5v, but I forgot to figure the power. At 1.5 Ohms equivalent
resistance, the current went well over my 2.1 amp source and
the carto would not fire. A 5 amp source would leave plenty
of head room.

Thanks again and for the link.

The Saber Touch looks great. But I'll have to save a
few more pennies before going that route.

Was hoping for a VV source with USB plug.

With the ST adjustable AC adapter, I could remove the
pin plug and replace it with a USB plug, but would only
be able to use the 4.2 or 5 v settings.

Still a great recommendation and I appreciate it.

I was going to stop posting these pictures, although it is hard, I love my new SaberTouch. This is the variable volt version and I do not have the passthrough option although I may very well pick it up eventually.

That looks awesome! I love the racing stripes. That's pretty much the set up that I would have chosen as well. I'm still trying to make up my mind as to which VV mod I'm going to buy. I just got my tax return money and I'm torn between the STVV, ProVari or a Precise Plus 18650 with a Kick module. I wish that I could afford to buy them all! I would even consider buying a Darwin but they're never in stock these days. I'm leaning towards to ProVari Mini due to its stealthy size and the fact that it can kick out 3.5 amps. The STVV with the HP upgrade is mighty tempting though.....decisions, decisions!

Why have to use a PT when you can use a Mod without that USB connection at all ? VV Reo, Provari, Darwin, and a few others will handle your needs for sure without that USB, just wondering why you want the PT ?

Not sure if you're asking me or wolfstone...

I don't HAVE to use a PT because I also have battery powered PVs.

My set up is all 808. No mods.

I simply want to variably reduce the voltage coming to my PT.

My AC/DC adapter output is 5v and 2.1 amps on USB. More amps
would be nice in order to fire a dual coil at 5v. Otherwise, my single
coil cartos are running too hot at 5v.

I have somewhat solved this "hot vape" by adding VG and PGA to the
mix, which also reduces nic. That's fine since it's so much more vapor.

Here's the ideal simple solution for my PT setup...

USB input > variable resistance (pot) > USB output

This "mod" voltage reducer would go between the AC/DC adapter
and the PassThru.

It's just an easy fix in lieu of an entirely new setup, plus all the mod
batts and accessories.
