In your opinion are the powerizers a better battery than the imr's?

I just want what will work best.

No, they aren't a better battery. But they are suitable and desirable for use in a Buzz Pro or VV Reo according to Mike of NotCigs. I defer to his expertise and feel confident he wouldn't sell them if there was a considerable risk involved. Nothing is foolproof in the realm of PV batteries, so I've done a lot of reading and tried to absorb the pertinent and relevant information. I am not an expert and don't claim to have any expertise on this subject.

I chose the Powerizers for my personal use but I'm not gonna go recommending them willy nilly. AW IMRs are safer and great performers.

Okay noob question time.

What is the difference between the AW 16340's & Tenergy RCR123A's & AW LiFePO4 RCR 123

and would they be interchangeable in the mod?

{edit} Posted before reading posts below the quote.

I think I have all three but haven't used them in a while. (Time to get them out to top off and see what to purchase, if need be.) My preference, for any stacking, is LiFePO, as they are the safest chemistry for doing so. I'm not sure but I think the protected (LiFePO don't need the protection circuit due to the chemistry.) may have more mAh rating, though. Don't quote me on that, please. As far as the differences, I forget, sorry.

i am going to buy some aw 16340s
there are icr 1630 that have protection and the red imr 16340 that dont have the protection
i gather from what i read that they both can be used in the vv reo
my questions are while i am waiting for the vv reo to come out can i use them in the reo grand ? will they both fit ?
which ones will work with 2 ohm dual coil cartomizers? (i owned rcr123 tenergys the did not have the power to light these up)

thank you for your time

Two questions. #1 Will the TrustFire Flame 16340's work? #2 How much longer till we get our hands on the VV Reo?????

Not sure about the Trusfire's I don't have any here to check out in my Buzz.

I will talk to Rob tonight and see if I can get a update :)

The TrustFire's worked in my Buzz. That's why I was hoping they will work in the VV Reo.

If you had them working in the BP it should be fine in the VV REO. Rob will always recommend the AW's for safety but the BP has a lot of safety stuff built in to the chip as you know.

I got most the battery's talked about here so I can test it out when the VV REO comes out.

MXBNW, do you know if the VV or the metal 18490 will be first?

I know Rob is working on the final designs for the metal 18490 so he can get the plans to the machinist but I think he will start work on the VV units while the metal 18490's are in the shop and anodizes.

Not sure what one will hit the site first but will do my best to get an update tonight when I talk to Rob

The tenergy Lifepo4 are better then the tenergy Li-ion. Even if the sencon ones are 900mah an the first 750mah, the duration is almost identical (just as there are not many differences even with the AW CR123 Lifepo4 that are only 500mAh).
The chemistry of lithium-polymer ( the Lifepo4) have an effective amperage very close to the one declared, thing which generally is not the case with the normal Li-ion battery.
In addition, the chemistry of Lifepo4 is a guarantee, not only in terms of consistency of performance (they have a more uniform discharge curve), but also in terms of longevity over time.... and then they are not damaged if left in charge for longer than necessary; while the Li-ion battery, with time, can suffer damage if you forget in the charger.

I have many tenergy Lifepo4 bought almost 2 years ago and are still as good as the first day:). While my Lithium CR123A, after somel months of use, had already lost much of their performance.

On my forum we measured, with precision instruments, the effective efficiency of various types of batteries. So if you need technical data and performance graphics, I can show you the link: Dati misurati sulle prestazioni delle batterie

Some brands of 16340's will fit stacked in a Grand. The shorter ones. There's lots of variance in heights amongst different brands and Li-ion vs. IMR vs. LiFePO4 chemistry. That's over 8 volts fresh off the charger (3.7 volts each, approximately 4.20 volts freshly charged) so be careful which atty or carto you fire up. For 6 volt vaping in a Grand, LiFePO4 RCR 123a's (3.2 volts each, approximately 3.6 fresh off the charger) are great. AW or Tenergy are both good RCR 123a's, but make sure you get a compatible charger for LiFePO4 batteries! For 5 volt vaping, there are 600 mAh 4.8 volt NiMH batteries available (approximately 5.6 volts fresh off the charger). These require a specific charger that only works for those batteries. For 3.7 volt vaping, AW IMR 18650's are where it's at (approximately 4.20 volts fresh off the charger).
