Vv/VW suggestions?

Hi all,

I have recently upgraded to some bigger guns in terms of battery mods.

i vape on a Protank 2, an RSST, a kayfun clone and about to start on an Octopus rda.

I currently use a Vamo v5 and although I really like its adjustability it's physical construction leaves me less than impressed. It's body tube and press fit parts click and creak a fair amount. They unseat/reseat far too easily for my liking. I HATE the idea of pulling it apart and gluing it...seems a bit cheap and cheesy to me.

can anyone suggest a SOLID, off-the-shelf VW/VV style mod that stays together?

i was looking at a Provari v.2.5 but it seems to only offer VV and there is no mention as to its mechanical construction. Is the way it works better than VW in terms of the range of types of vaping I do? Would I be losing features switching to a Provari of gaining a more sophisticated approach? Are they well made or is it another hit and miss situation with pressed parts that go loose with a heavy atty attached?

any other suggestions for an intelligent and SOLID tube mod?

The build quality of Provari is impeccable, IMO. It is built to "professional tool" standards, IMO. It will not creak or break, IME.

It is VV adjustable from 2.9 to 6.0 V. Amp limit is 2.5 A.

Personally I don't have much use for VW. I am very happy with my Provari so far, and judging from the build quality I will continue to be so for a long time.

The provari is a consistent and solid device. VW uses the resistance to put out a specific voltage to get that wattage/power level. Voltage×Voltage ÷Resistance =Wattage

The devices I've measured don't put out a higher range.. if you're set at 5volts with an MVP, you won't be at 12.5 watts with a 2 ohm resistor. It will stay in the 11watt range.

Semovar would be my vote for a mod in that style.. modular, vv/vw, sleek, adjustable 510 connection, hybrid with kayfun 3.1, 350/490/650 battery tubes, and planned releases of mechanical switches... have a kayfun 3.1 and the switch, you have two mods.. plus an extra battery tube.

The only other option for a regulated tube mod I'd recommend is the futura..dna device, so it won't do less than 7 watts.

I'd suggest looking at the Semovar also. The Futura is a wonderful mod, I love mine dearly but at 7-8 Watts minimum, its power level starts higher than I like for a clearo. OTOH, it's great with a Kayfun style or a dripper. The Semovar can handle the clearos and provide decent power for the Kayfun though more is better. So buy the Semovar and when your wallet recovers, get the Futura for the Octopus and Kayfun.
