Stocking Up for the Vapocalypse...

Looking at picking up a larger mod for 25mm tanks, as I didn't realize the Aromamizer Supreme that I had picked up a while ago had a larger diameter (most of my tanks are 22mm). I have a VS rDNA 40 that I had won in a contest that may work with a skin on it, but it only does Nickel.

I haven't tried temperature control yet, but would like a mod that has the capability to handle SS and Ti, as well. The only temperature control mods that I currently have are the Eleaf Pico, Joyetech Evic VTC Mini, and an Athena Envy22 (but that will only take 22mm tanks anyway), so none of those will fit without overhang.

I'd like something that feels good in the hand, pocket-friendly(?), and isn't GINORMOUS. Wattage capability isn't really that important, as I think the highest wattage that I've ever used is 30W (Haha!). Which mods should I be considering right now? BTW, the only batteries that I currently have on hand are 18650s (Samsung INR18650-25R, LG LGDBHE4, & LG DBHG2). Thanks!

Too many mods to list that are advertised as 25mm wide, be careful though because the placement of the 510 can cause an overhang even if 25mm wide. The Presa 100 is one I own that will fit a 30mm atty. It uses an 18650 with a sleeve or 26650 w/o sleeve. This mod uses the same basic board as your VTC Mini so you already know how it works. The Presa 100 is a substantial mod, make no mistake about it. Not "mini" and has weight to it. It does have good ergonomics IMHO- it's smooth and curved in such a way that it feels good in hand.

A few others advertised as 30mm, smaller to larger- the Think Vape 75W TC (26650), the Hotcig DX75 (26650), the Encom Voidray (very light and $20 plus ship at efun), the HCigar VT75 (either 18- or 26650, has DNA 75 board); I own none of these. I'm sure there are others as well.

Good luck!

The 3 cell Triade should hold a 25 mm tank nicely. It obviously is bulkier with the sort of triangular shape needed for the 3 cells, but it fits nicely in the hand. The RX200/200S has a similar design, but not sure how the 510 connector is on it for a 25 mm tank. Both overkill for power for your normal use, but a larger tank does need a larger mod to balance well. Another advantage to the triangular shape with such a large tank is better stability when set down with less chance of toppling.

Thanks so much taking the time out to offer suggestions, everyone! Many of these I haven't heard of before, so I will definitely give them all a look.

So far, I haven't used my Supreme. I've been sticking to single coil or dual with single coil adapters for now, as I don't currently have a more powerful mod (mine max out at 75W), so a dual battery mod is probably the biggest I'll go. Then again, I thought I'd never build my coils either.

Ok, I've done some poking around and the Presa 100W looks like the best for me: size (not too tall), features, & versatility. I don't think that I will ever need a 200W mod for my vaping and the Presa's form factor looks small enough for my hands and to use with other smaller tanks as well, without looking odd. It's also kind of purty. ;) I also liked the VF Stout, but that's got a much higher pricetag.

Now, I understand that I will need to use a 26650 battery, if I want the 100W capability & longer battery life, or I will be capped at 75W and very short battery life if I use a 18650 battery in the sleeve instead. Well... I just spent a good few hours trying to decide on what 26650 batteries to buy and my head is spinning!

Way too much information to process, different brands names than the 18650 brands that I'm used to seeing, and then there's those re-wrapped counterfeits to add to the mix & confuse things further. Been looking at battery charts and finding many discharge ratings that are no where near what the description claims. I feel like my head is about to explode.

What 26650 batteries (and what vendors) are the best to look at for use in the Presa 100W? I'll buy at least 2 of them, but may consider buying 4, if the price/tests are really good. I must note that I have not purchased the Presa yet, so I'm still open for opinions on other mods.

I should have married an electrician!

Hmm... I may be changing my mind on the Presa, now... Look what just showed up on Fasttech:

I may wait a bit to see if other colors and the mod only show up (only kits w/ Melo III in black or silver, so far). I already love the 75W Pico, so what's a couple more? :danger:

Whoops, spoke too soon... Found them!

---------------------
EDIT: Um, uh, no... I just saw photos showing this mod's width tapers from the wide battery side to a narrower 510 side... Back to considering the Presa, but a dual-18650 mod is probably my best bet for 25mm+ tanks. My Vapor Shark rDNA 40 is 24.13mm wide, so I should be able to use that with a skin on for my Aromamizer Supreme without any noticeable overhang, but I'm limited to Ni for TC.

Any dual-battery favorites with temperature control (SS & Ti)?

26650s are actually worse than 18650s you won't get 100w from a 26650. For that you're better off with for example an LG hb4, but you'll not have a long battery runtime.

In case anyone is following along and also interested for their own needs, I decided on the Tesla Nano 60W 3600mAh TC VW APV Mod (in black). It doesn't have everything that I want (no SS TC setting), but it will do Ti which is my 2nd choice in TC wire. It was also inexpensive at $38 shipped. Not much different in cost than the Presa 100W, but the pocket-ability factor of the Nano sold it for me and I like the looks of the Nano more than the Presa any way.

I went with an internal battery, so that it would still be small/portable yet powerful, and 60 watts is more than enough for me. While it is much smaller than the other mods that I was considering, this post sold me on it: Micro mods!. I never would have even thought to look at this one had it not been for that photo of a Griffin 25.

Now, the waiting begins... That is, if I don't fall in love with something else while I wait.
