VX2 Atomizer Cleaning and Life

I've had mine since the end of may still on the first atomizer working great... I just blow it out from the battery end
I also have had my VX2 for quite some time now and have had no need to clean it out. 2-3 times a week I wick a paper towel up next to the atomizer and let it draw the excess juice from it over night.
WHEN/IF I decide to clean it, I am going to do my cola bath, hot water rinse, alcohol bath, hot water rinse, let dry for a day routine I use on all of my other atomizers.

I don't have a dead j118 atty yet. My original very firstest atty did get clogged, and after reading the entire (yes, I know) atty care thread(s), the best cleaning method for me goes like this:
1) Soak atty in distilled white vinegar for two hours
2) Rinse off with cold water
3) Blow through liberally (or republicanly, your choice)
4) Dry with a blow dryer on low heat (or let it sit a long time if you are patient)
5) Drip a few drops of juice (two or three) on the coil from the cart side
6) Put a fresh or just filled cart on the atomizer and stand it up allowing the atty to get juice for 5-10 minutes.
7) Enjoy your death free nicotine

I've yet to have a VX2 atty die on me, even after several months of use.
Every few weeks I soak them in vinegar for an hour or so, then rinse with tap water and blow out/dry. Then a few drops of juice on the heating coil and let dry again.

Just a note: I'd read about cleaning an atomizer, and everyone says "blow it out" from the battery end. We picked up a can of compressed air used to clean computer keyboards, and the cans come with a thin tube (like a can of WD-40). That blows out all dampness just fine, so thought I'd mention it. For cleaning, we did the running under very hot water, but since we're still on our first couple of weeks, don't know how dirty an atomizer can get.
I've read that compressed air can actually destroy an atomizer, but haven't personally tried.
Still haven't had a vx2 atty die on me. I cycle between three different atomizers for flavor purposes so that might be prolonging their life.

Hmm...I can't see why compressed air would wreck the atomizer, but blowing through it with lung power wouldn't. Unless the filament is SO delicate that the compressed air would break it. If that were true, then cleaning it even in a mild acid like vinegar would also break it. I'm supposing this might be an urban legend---about how compressed air causes trouble?
could possibly wreck an atty due to the fact that compressed o2 can be extrreemly cold coming out of the can in close proximity 
I checked; I'm using Endust for Electronics. When I blew some out of the can onto my hand, it was cool, but pretty close to room temp. So the compression doesn't seem to use other gases. That being said, I've had this can quite awhile so maybe newer brands do use some kind of propellant.
