I wish I had done a lot more research before I ordered my first ecig. It'll arrive wednesday. I bought the SS Choice No. 7 Micro from ecigaretteschoice.com. Way overpriced and apparently does not produce much vapor.

I will try it out before I decide to return it, if I do. I'm excited to try it as it's my first ecig. If I were to buy another one it would probably be either the vapor king or the 501.

I hope you enjoy your VK. Good luck!

OH and I have smoked heavily for the past 8 years. I chose to go to the ecig because I've tried the gum, patch, snus, tablets and strips (from camel). I have COPD so I really need to quit smoking analogs. I'm sure this will be the thing that helps me quit. Woot.

Do me a personal favor and please give your new e-cig a good try, a really good effort. My sister went to the hospital on xmas day with her COPD problems and finally quit smoking that day after so many years (too many years). The doctor told her that they came very close to wheeling her to the morgue downstairs that day.

I haven't heard any great reviews about the exact model you've already purchased, but a really good Joye510 starter kit is only $35.00 + 5.00 for shipping if you can get one. Even if you just cut down to a few cigs a day at first, that would be a great accomplishment.

Also, to you and all new vapers here, we are all here to help and support each other so don't hesitate to post your concerns or if you need help and answers. This new hobby can really work for you a lot easier than you think if you just convince yourself to make it work.

Good Luck!

I've tried the patch (between the nicotine absorption and the adhesive I had patch sized blisters in seven different spots - needless to say, I stopped after that first week.) The gum didn't even come close to helping. The Commit lozenge worked on the cravings but... I went back after being smoke free for a month because the "ritual" of smoking is the part I can't seem to shake.

Other than going with the 4mg on the 5 carts that come with the set I ordered, all the extra juice is nicotine free. Hope I can go 100% nicotine free on future carts/juice orders.

I got the VAPOR KING-Ultimate Ultimatum Automatic Kit. They also gave me 5 free sample cartdriges when I opened up the package. That was nice. All in all....I have no complaints thus far. However...I might consider getting a manual battery in the near future. Makes taking a drag a easier than the automatic which sort needs a little "starting puff".....

That's good to hear - I got the same kit but went manual.

I guess each and everyone of us "newbies" will have to find out what works for us. I kept going back and forth on which ecig I should buy and after reading all the great material here, I decided to go with the Joye510. I am just hoping that the mg of nicotine is gonna work. I would eventually like to quit like the rest of you and go to 0 nic but i know if I did that now....................analogs would be on the horizon! So for now, analogs and patience waiting for my first kit.:D

I hope the vaporking works for you. I use it, so far the only system I've used. If you have any problems or questions you might want to check the vapor4life forums, lots of good information there. If it the vaporking doesn't work for you I hope you try another system. Vaporing isn't a one size fits all solution and as much as I love my vaporking your milage may vary

When I first started it was expensive because I was buying analogs too. Now that I've cut them out that free'd up alot of money. I'm at the point now I could go a month with out buying any new supplies.

I've spent a lot of money buying different ecigs and juice. Right now my 510 is the only thing I use. I'm going to be ordering the Vaporking as soon as I get paid. I've read good things about the flavor it puts out, and maybe some of the juice I don't like now will be palatable with the VK.
I've tried the patches and the gum, and I'd either get an uncomfortable nic high (they don't make them for 1/2 pack a dayers apparently) and the gum did nothing. I quit smoking the day I got my first ecig. I have a friend who still smokes a couple a day, and there's a guy that I work with who smokes 4 or 5 (though I think that's mostly to get out of the office). You may not quit immediatly... cold turkey is hard. But the ecigs sure do make the difference for me. I haven't decided if I'll totally quit the nicotine (and I've read good things about nicotine and the gut primarily Alcertive Colitis which tends to run in my family), but I think I'm ready to cut it back some. I think the hand to mouth thing that us smokers have is the biggest thing to get over. I think that's what kept dragging me back to cigarettes. Now I can quit one step at a time (if I choose to...).

All that said, no one says these are safe. But I really do want to think that they're safer. I'm hoping that some testing will be done. The gov may not think so yet, but I don't think that PVs are going to go away.

Welcome to the forum! My only concern for you is that you are starting off with a really low dose of nicotine. While using an ecig will definately help with the hand to mouth thing, I fear you won't be able to stop smoking real cigs with such a low dose or no dose of nic too. If you find that you still want to smoke really badly, you should try some stronger nic content in your juice. Some folks on here couldn't quit until they went up to 36 mg's! I use 24 mgs myself. Good luck!

Shortstuff116,

Thanks for your concern. I will give my ecig a good try. I really want to quit smoking but so far I've had no good luck. I think most of my problem is I'm very psychologically dependent on the act of smoking, probably a little moreso than the nicotine itself. When I have used NRT such as the patch I am ok for about a day and a half then I get really figity and start panicking a bit because I'm not smoking. That's my downfall. So I really hope that the ecig will prevent that panic and also give me nicotine.

I have read that ecigs only give about 1/3 to 1/2 the amt of nicotine that an analog does but I think it'll be okay. I may just end up vaping more than I smoke. I'm hopeful.

I've been smoking the ultra lights, and the lozenges that worked last time for the nic cravings were 2mg so I'm hoping... *fingers crossed*

Let's see... ordered Monday, and the package was waiting for me in the mailbox today. *wheeeeee*! Got some free samples and an extra battery to boot! (Which will thrill my Mom since her greensmoke starter kit is on backorder and she really wants to try it out *now*) Reading over the booklet and will be trying it out shortly.

I'm about to turn in, am smiling big time. Last post today: picked up my Ultra kit at 7:15 this morning at the PO. I'm a HEAVY, very long-time smoker.
I'd read the forums to death so had some clue, and assembled first ecig ever at a red light on the way to work, out of the box, zero hassle. By the time I got there I'd got the rhythm and the vapor and was going, wow, this works!. Haven't wanted an analog in the SLIGHTEST all day.
Went thru a bunch of flavors, changing carts, way fun; big on pear, oddly enough. Ordered 18s with the idea that if there was some withdrawal, OK, that's where I want it. That works too so far. Perfect I think.
I've briefly quit so many times using every method going. All really hard for me. This is absolutely peachy keen cool. Just no desire whatsoever for a cig. Man....
Thank you Steve, whoever and wherever you are. You're my shining star at the moment. G'night nice people.

Hi SingingWolf,

I'll bet you'll love it ... 2 days here & really enjoying it very much!

You'll have it figured out in no time & get it tuned up the way you want it.

Seems like it takes some gettin' used to, but keep reading whatever you can in this forum & you'll be in good shape.

I remember how proud I was of myself when I learned how to use a child-proof Bic lighter, right?

Good Luck & Welcome!

I agree with the "ritual" thing. The snus and committ lozes are good to have on hand if you are needing heavy nicotine. But give your new ecigs a shot and chuck your analogs. I think it still requires a firm commitment to stop analogs. I like how you get your smell, taste and energy back after only a few days, and this is a badly needed motivation. The "ritual" thing are ecigs strongest quality IMO, more so then nicotine delivery.
