Waiting on the mail

Hi all,

I ordered my first e-cig kit a few days ago and now I'm just waiting for Mr. Mailman to come and bring me my presents. Anybody else desperately waiting for something to be delivered? What cool new toys do you have coming?

I'd never even heard of an e-cig until a few days ago, so I'm just dying to see what it's like. I ordered the SI Volt starter kit and a few extra carto packs. I've been smoking since I was 15-ish, 29 now, and I really think this is going to help me out immensely. I've tried the patch, the gum and even cold turkey, but I feel so naked without having something in my hand!

My dad was has stage 4 lung cancer due to smoking, so I'm hoping this is something that can help him out as well. I'm going to give the Volt a try and if I like vaping, I'm going to order him a kit as well. The poor old guy only has one lung left and he still can't quit, so I figure vaping has got to be better for him than smoking. That's why I'm trying out the Volt instead of the seemingly much loved Ego. I don't want something so harsh to test out.. I might pick one up for myself down the road though.

Sorry for the ramble, but I just wanted to say "hi" and thank this forum for helping me get interested in the world of vaping!

And EGO's aren't necessarily harsh , unless you use a new atty or carto , without first burning off the primer some of them come with , Prime either with some juice , and fire a half dozen times to burn off the primer , then go ahead and try vaping . Remember to draw in slowly ,a mouthful of vapor , then inhale . If you hit it like a regular ciggy , you will cough , and gag . very harsh , to say the least . Take it real slow and easy to start . And indeed , if you can get your dad to vape , instead of smoking , it will definitely be better for him . At least make it easier for him to breath . Good luck to both of you .

SaraBee, you're eventually going to find that analogs do not compare with the amount of visible vapor, throat hit OR flavor of vaping...and it smells a LOT better! Sincerely hope (and believe) your dad can pacify the demon with your help. Wishing you both the very best.

Waiting was hard-I was making do with disposables(not pleasant). Just got my ego t yesterday and it's like a whole new much more pleasant experience. I wish you the best in your journey and much encouragement for you and your dad. After more than 30 years on tobacco and trying every other method to be free I know this has helped me immensely.

As for the much beloved eGo, meh. Whatever makes you feel comfortable to get started vaping and cutting down on analogs is what's right for you. Don't get me wrong. I have an ego and absolutely love it. But if the Volt is what caught your fancy, then fantastic!

As for new gear in the mail, I'm currently stalking the postman for my new Infinity Pro. Hoping it'll get delivered on Sat instead of Mon, so I can play with it over the weekend.

I'm waiting for a new juice order from Vapelicious (with WTA), and should be here Friday or Saturday. Ethan (the juice artist) is mixing a special flavor concoction with Licorice for me, plus a couple of tobaccos and fruity flavors. Can't wait to try them in my new Fluxomizers (just got'em yesterday)!

Congrats on switching over and please let us know how it's working out for you. It doesn't matter what PV you purchased as long as it keeps you off the ciggies. I also hope your Dad will catch onto vaping. It will be better for both of you.

I too waited on the couch all day long for the mailman to come.. Figures he would be a few hours late the day that it was supposed to be delivered!

Well, the mailmen came this morning! My order ended up being the wrong colored batts and short a package of cartos, but I sent customer service an email. They sent me a nice personalized note with my invoice and a drawing on the package though, so I can't complain too much.

I just booted it up and I have to say, this is BETTER than I thought it was going to be. It really, really tastes and feels like smoking to me. I'm using the SI "Cowboy" 12mg cartos at the moment. I am so happy this forum turned me onto e-cigs and Volt in particular. It's perfect for now. Being a gadget girl, I might want to upgrade later but for right now, it's perfect! Well, except for the bright orange pumpkin battery I was mistakenly sent.

Good thoughts for you and your Dad. It's amazing the control cigarettes can have over your life. The only thing more amazing is how easy the transition is to vaping You'll run into a bump or two getting to know your equipment and such. It's an amazing, life-changing experience. It's actually kind of hilarious. It's like blaze orange with an orange LED tip as well. Too bad Halloween was last week, because this thing is very festive. If they don't let me exchange it, I'm totally going to find some pumpkin spice juice somewhere and rock that baby.

Since my dad just had surgery, I'm staying with him at the moment. He saw the package and said to let him know if I liked it and he would pick one up too. Well, I DO like it for sure, and I'm going to secretly place an order for him once they fix my stuff.

NINJA EDIT: Actually, perhaps the old man would enjoy some brightness in his life... Perhaps some orange brightness! Maybe I'll get him to blaze away on some blaze orange if the return is out of the question, that should get him interested until I pick him up a kit.

So glad you are happily vaping away right now! Its a fall battery lol I wish you luck with your dad! I have a somewhat similar story, dad had heart valve replaced at 38...38!!!He is now in his 50s and still smoking so he has to at least try vaping! I vape for luck to us both!so glad you found the forum and made a great decision on your volt!

Great to hear Sara and love the positivity re: orange batt. Just a reminder to drink LOTS of water. Vapor comes not from the liquid but from our bodies and dehydration seriously hampers the vaping experience and can lead to some unpleasant issues.
