Gosh... all of these stories take me back to my own personal experience of having to wait for my first PV to arrive in the mail. -- All I can say is it's a funny thing that can sometimes happen when one finally takes the plunge and places their first order for an e-cig. At least it happened for me!
I ordered my first e-cig online on a Thursday afternoon - I ordered it from an outfit located in my own State. Initially I thought it was quite reasonable to think it might arrive in perhaps Monday's mail delivery. So I just decided to spend a little time here on ECF and see what else I could learn about '
vaping'.
-- However,... by Thursday night (after a 9-hour marathon session of reading through hundreds of postings here).... I had suffered such anxiety from the unavoidable 'anticipation' .... that I managed to work it around in my head such as to believe it was perfectly logical to expect that my order should come the very next day (in Friday's mail).
-- It
did not however, arrive on Friday
as expected. -- So I beat my dogs... kicked the cat... trashed the house... and rudely chewed-out the next several callers who were simply touching-base to see how my day was going.
-- But I finally managed to settle down... and decided to spend a little time here reading a few more posts on ECF.
I stayed glued to the computer for the next 10+ hours that evening. After an entire six-pack, a half-bottle of rum, a whole bottle of Sake (along with another 3 packs of analogs)... I finally crawled (literally) on in to bed at around 4:45 am. Needless to say... I was dragging a bit the next day.
So...shortly after Saturday's mail failed to deliver on my
absolute expectations... I began to pack & make necessary arrangements for blowing-off work on Monday. My objective was to drive the 4-hour trip
(leaving around 4am)..on up to the Dallas area in order to arrive by 8 in the morning. My plan was simply to storm the company's headquarters, take at least 3 hostages....and lodge my demands with that lousy e-cig supplier. I calculated they owed me at least a dozen
additional e-cigs and
3 gallons of juice as punitive damages and compensatory retribution for the loss of my sanity and for their reckless disregard in violating my inalienable human rights. By that time, I had become staunchly convinced they had, by sheer and unforgivable gross-negligence, caused me irreparable personal harm for failing to perform (instantaneous delivery) according to the implicit & indisputable terms of my good-faith purchase contract with them!!
--- I really don't know how I got through Sunday or Monday as I can't remember much of anything during that period of time.
On Tuesday afternoon.. at 3:07pm on September 22nd, 2009... my order arrived. -- I do remember that! I guess you might say I was kind of a mess by then. -- But from that moment on..(after a 40+ year 2pack/day smoking addiction).. I tossed aside my tobacco cigarettes. I've not even considered lighting up another one since then.
For all of those out there who might be finding it a bit annoying to have to wait for their first PV to arrive in the mail --- I think there's probably a few of us who kind'a know how you feel.
