Hello all,

This is my first post, so first a little background. I am an 18 year smoker with 15 years of heavy (2+ packs/day) smoker. And I love my cigarette habit, while I mentally know it is killing me, emotionally I am soooo addicted to multiple things about my cigarettes, of course I have a heavy duty nicotine addiction (which I have no real problems with, I also have a raging caffeine addiction which I manage quite healthily) and have honestly other than boot camp and a round of pneumonia never actually quit or even tried to quit (nor have I ever given up my coffee . . . ever). So I went to go visit my brother last week (who is another smoker) and he apparently has a friend who has a blu, and a mall that has a smoking anywhere kiosk. After dicussing things for a couple hours we headed down to the mall and tried out the smoking anywhere PV, and I was more than a little impressed (and after sucking on that stupid thing for 10 minutes while the salesman was trying really really hard to make a sale or 2 . . . and no, both of us have enough common sense to do research before we buy stuff) and actually didn't immediatly need to light up on exiting the mall (made it at least 15 minutes into the car ride :p). So went back to his house and started doing some heavy duty online research.

And so here I am, posting looking for advice and whatnot.

First off, I am actually settling down and probably gonna make my first order in a couple of days. I am looking at getting a m402 starter kit, with 2 m401 battery's, and a USB passthrough and 5 regular and 5 xl empty carts and thinking 30ml in 10 ml increments of 3 flavors. And while the acquisitive techy heart of me really really wants a PCC I figure I will hold off a week or 2 till I know this is something that I will keep up with.

My main question, how long is 30ml gonna realistically gonna last me, in extremely rough terms. I will not be able to use a PV as a pacifier at work, but I might at home. So am I gonna go through 10ml on a weekend day, or probably not.

As to whether or not I will be losing the analogs, no clue, time will tell, but I live in northern new york and don't smoke inside, so the getting in outta the cold is a hell of a motivator.

Thanks

Being a heavy smoker myself....I got a 510 and haven't touched an analog since yesterday (when i first got my 510 in the mail).

I got my entire kit, 2 batteries, 2 atts, 2 very small bottles of juice, 5 prefilled high marl carts, wall charger and PCC for $65 bucks from cignot.com.

I have no idea how the m402 is, cause I've never used one, but being a heavy smoker myself, I am REALLY loving the 510. Huge clouds of smoke and it satisfies my cravings for nicotine.

For me heavy vaping (and by heavy, I mean, I never put it down), is about 3ml a day. For most, it will probably be closer to 1-2ml a day. My first 10ml lasted me about a week.

As for the model. I have heard people say good things about the 40x models, but for me it was a little weak. I much prefer the 510. What I did was take the money that used to be budgeted for cigs and spend it on e-cig stuff. Within a month or so, I had tried just about every model. When you figure the starter kit for most models runs less than a carton of smokes, it doesn't take long. Anyway, the reason I say this is that if the 401 had been my first PV, I may not have stuck with it. So if you find it's not 'working' for you, move up to the 510 and try again.

Good luck and Welcome to the forum!

My opinion, don’t plan on quitting the day you get this (if you were). Don’t be overly concerned about getting enough liquid. There is a learning curve involved, and lots of different types and strengths of liquids. Keep it simple order enough to try e-smoking. If your brother is also thinking this about maybe you could both order different stuff.

Spend a few afternoons vaping, you will learn lots, and ask a lot more questions. There is a good chance you wont be 100% satisfied with you choice of PV or juice. Not that it sounds like a bad choice, but there are so many variables. You will notice a lot of people spend a lot of time looking for what works good for them.

Then make a second order for what you like/need.

My brother is actually getting a 510 starter kit from cignot I believe. I decided on the m401/2 because as of right now, I really don't want to push a button every time I take a drag. I am much more of a "stick a smoke (pen, pencil, whatever, I am aware of my oral fixation also) in my mouth and just let it dangle there" kinda person. And I want something small and light . . . and really really important, not take up much pocket space on the go (because I carry a bigillion things in my pockets everywhere).

For automatic batteries, make sure you get batteries that activate by suction rather than sound.
I suggest sending an email to the vendors you are thinking of using and asking them just to make sure.

First off, hello and welcome to the forum!!! I stumbled upon this forum the same way you did... wanting to learn more after hearing an ad on the radio. After spending a week on here learning all kinds of stuff, I went ahead, took the leap and ordered my m402 kit from Litecig. This was probably the best decision I have ever made in my life. Like you, I absolutely 'loved' smoking and because of that I didn't believe that it was possible for me to quit smoking analogs. But then, my daughter begged and begged, so I thought I'd just give a try. Well, let me tell you... I placed my order on a Friday, received my kit on Monday, smoked my last analog on that very same day while my battery fully charged... and I was a 12 yr, 1 pk a day smoker. I would NEVER have thought that it could be that easy, especially because I had tried to quit using other methods. I have been vaping now for 3 days. I ordered 30ml of juice with my initial order and still have a little over 20ml left. And I have to say, I have been sucking on this thing like a pacifier since I received it!

Now that I have the vaping down, I am on a mission to find the best tasting juice! Good luck to you and again, welcome to the world of vaping! :thumb:

After much error I finally got a 510 with manual switch. You can order one with automatic but I think you will find you like the manual better and they seem to last longer. I was a 40 year 3 packs a day smoker and I loved my cigarettes. I can't hardly believe I quit cigarettes but I have not had a cigarettes in 8 months. Don't expect to much at first and don't feel discouraged if you smoke a few cigarettes. It takes time to learn how to vape to get the most satisfication. Good luck. I use about 30ml of 36 in a week. I know it looks like I use alot but once you read the forum you will find there are several of us that use this much.

Welcome bud, your in the same place I was just a week ago.

I bought a 510 manual for my first e-cig and now that im 2 days in I am glad I made the choice. I have not put down analogs all together, but I have cut my intake down to half of what I regularly smoke which is 1 + packs a day. That might not be as much as you smoke, but if I can cut it in half anyone can. I am the kind of smoker who would light a cig for a 2 second walk from the car into a store. Now I can just hit off my 510 real quick, and not be standing in the cold waiting the 2-3 minutes for the thing to burn down or waste it by throwing it out after a puff or two. I havent tried the automatic battery which is available for the 510 btw, but from what I read in my research was that auto's can activate when you dont want them to, can have problems when using em outside in windy conditions, and have an automatic saftey shutoff that can get annoying when you want to burn a little extra.

The manual is pretty sweet and I would highly recomend it. I got used to it in like 5 minutes and its so easy to hit the button you can do it by holding the thing like a reg cig. Also while they say the 510 is longer than some of the other mini's like the 4's It is still smaller than a pen. I have a janty dura c, not sure if its the same as a reg 510 or a smaller version, but it is great.

Anyway if your really against going with a 510 for whaterver reason, I did see a review by moobyghost on the m602 Ultra which he said had the flavor of a M401 with the power and cartridge life of a 510. This might be a better choice for you.

I cant post links yet so just copy paste

I've vaping heavily since getting my 510 and my M402 and I'm finding I go through 2-3 ml a day. The 510 is a bit more of a juice hog than the M402 though. On days when I've just used the M402 I haven't done more than 2 ml. Good luck! You are going to love it I'm sure.
Juice hog = More vapor

The manual button is in a good place, pretty much where you put your finger when you hold the 510 PV (like when ou hold a cig pretty much) - its quite a natural action to use your fore or middle finger to depress what is a tiny button. It's not UN natural at all, and take really no time to get 'used' to. In fact I think I used some pressure on my analogs in pretty much the same way just by holding one.
There's also a lot more control with a manual so I'd recommend it.
Juice: Now I say this over n over to new peeps but get a few flavors of juice, not JUST the ones that come with it. Good juice makes a HUGE difference in the whole experience.
I'm nmot saying the juice you get with your kit will be awful, it may be great, but the more comparisons you can get the better to judge.
You can buy sample sizes at many of the suppliers listed on the forums - like $3-$5 usually for 3-5ml - for flavors like 'bananas foster', 'cheesecake' 'coffee' 'minty/menthol' even things like Bacon! (yeah I wouldn't vape it either..lol) Tobacco flavors are also available but bear in mind that NOTHING is going to taste exactly like a cigarette except a cigarette.
I wish you all the best - hope you have fun reading and researching!
