Want more vapor and throat hit...

I got the Blu starter kit, which I was quite pleased with when I first purchased it. I started running low on carts and decided to pick up a disposable Blu. The difference was quite dramatic. Instant throat hit + more vapor = me happy. I would like to try something a bit more like the blu disposables but with more bang (also the price is a bit steep). Any suggestions would be great. I have very limited experience with e-cigs, and I do want to go the more economical route of refilling carts. The low battery life on the blu, as well as the lack of vapor and "hit" are a little frustrating. Help?

Hello Vision and welcome to ECF. I know many, myself included had the same frustrations starting out. We wanted to go with an analog look alike and outgrew it fairly fast. For battery time I would recommend a Kgo from Hoosier supply. It is 1100Mah and the average vaper gets about 1 hour per Mah. I am a very heavy vaper some days and get about 8-10 hours on one charge. For vapor, flavor, and throat hit the liquid is part of it but the delivery method is too. I have tried atties, and many cartos and boge 2.0 is a winner for cartos if that is what you want. I have gone exclusively to Fluxomizers from Gotvapes for the great flavor, vapor, and throat hit. They do require a little adjustment for a heavy vaper but are so worth the 20 seconds to do so. They last me about 3-4 weeks on one which is a lot longer than I got out of any other carto. Hope that helps.

Somewhere out there
I think many have been disappointed with blus. I tried several slim type ecigs and the best I have found is the Halo G6 standard sized. If you want to go to a mod style there are lots of choices out there. I am waiting on a GLV 2 super mini. We all seem to upgrade to some type of better battery and that means more power, better vapor, better TH, more flavor and longer lasting batts. Good luck on your search and have fun! Lots to choose from out there. Welcome aboard! bnrk

The best option I can suggest for you would be to grab some ego / riva / tornado brand batteries at 900-1100 mah. Grab a charger for these. Grab some LR Boge cartomizer's and a drip tip ( so you don't have to use that rubber topper that comes on top of the boge cartomizer.) I switched from a blu cig because I wasn't getting enough vapor / throat hit. I found liquids that are 24mg 50/50 blend of PG/VG work best for starting. ( I would suggest a variety pack in 5ml though in different PG/VG mixes and different nic levels to see what you enjoy best )

I did get a ego-t kit because it was so cheap $49.99 so I could get the 2 batteries and the charger. I honestly didn't think I would like the tank kit because of the reviews. I gotta say most of the bad reviews are correct on the tank kit. When it does work the ego-t performs awesome. After that though when it decides it doesn't want to work you'll wish you had some cartomizers. Burnt taste / no vapor and adjusting the wick all the time. It's not fun ... so I've just completely switched to cartomizers.

I switched from the blu to ego-T 1000 mAh and a Riva 510 SE....both blow blu out of the water. Love the long lasting ego battery, but not necessarily loving the tank set up. I am having more success with cartos.

I've used Vapingzone and Liberty Flights for gear, and am losing track of who all I have ordered juice from. No issues at all with any vendors I have found through ECF.

Good Luck and WELCOME to ECF!

Any specific websites to shop at? I know the almighty google works, but some suggestions go a long way. Appreciate all the help!

If you are looking for a bigger battery model, try Liberty Flights. Click the 20% off on the top left.

You can get the Riva lite bundle for $29.99.
That includes two batteries, cartridges, chargers. If you go this route, I'd pick up at least two boxes of boge cartomizers (2.0) and a couple of drip tips.

I would get the Riva deluxe carto kit. 5 cartos already in the kit. Just pick up another box of boge 2.0 cartos

I would get juice from a juice vendor. I'm not really fond of the juice at LF. Read through the reviews section.

If you purchase cartos from joogler, you get a free bottle of juice. Use the code ECF50ff for $5.00 off your first purchase. You'll get a box of cartos for about $2.00 and a free bottle of juice.

Vermillon River also has a special, free juice, you pay postage.

I started with a Blu type a year ago and then went to a Riva. My best experience on the Riva was when I used LR atty but those can kill the batteries!
I then went to 5 volt and variable volt mods and got huge plumes of vapor and nice warm throat hits. I can use regular attys with them too, which last longer than the LR ones. I've been using the mods since Feb and they completely satisfy me. It's like smoking a Marlboro red box cig compared to smoking an ultra light cig.

Madvapes.com sells 5 volt and variable volt boxes for good prices. I've also bought mods from OldGoat and KrimsonKustom on the Modders forum here: Modder/Accessories Supplier Forum

Let us know how you like the ego-t . Like I said from my experience the tank system just wasn't what I wanted it to be. Too much hassle and only wanted to perform half the time. I love the boge cartomizers though which are basically just tubes with filler that you load the juice in and let it soak up kind of like a zippo lighter. Than you hook it up to the ego-t where the atomizer piece screws in and fire it up and it works. Here's a video that shows you how they work / how to fill them if you decided to get a pack of those. Kanal von pbusardo - YouTube

What I usually do is have 1 cartomizer for each flavor I have and just refill those because the flavor lingers around if you use the same one for different juices. You can get a 5 pack of boge cartomizers at Welcome to VaporGod.com - Eliquid, Cartomizers, Ego Batteries, Atomizers, Electronic Cigarettes and more!. I would suggest getting the LR (Low Resistance) ones as they burn hotter and produce more vapor / throat hit.

somewhere!
Just to simplify this -- You request more throat hit. Here are the ways to accomplish that:

1) buy liquid with a higher percentage of PG (propylene glycol)
2) buy liquid with a higher nicotine content
3) switch to a low resistance atomizer/cartomizer (I prefer low resistance 306 atomizers -- they work with any 510 device). The lower the ohms, the more vapor and throat hit you will get. The lowest ohm rating i've seen is the 1.5 ohm 306 available at avidvaper.com.
4) switch to a higher voltage/variable voltage mod such as the prodigy or the darwin
5) Use high drain batteries in whatever mod you get. High drain batteries output the same voltage throughout their charge. Normal batteries start higher and end lower.

Buying a bigger battery is a good idea if you go with LR atties and is a prerequisite of higher voltage devices, but in and of itself will not alter vapor production (outside of the fact that you won't be running on empty as often).
