I've recently been wrapping single micro coils with ribbon wire with excellent results but I'd like to run a dual micro ribbon wire coil in my Aqua.
So far, I have been using my provari to measure ohms but anything below .8 registers as "lo" on the screen and my ohm meter replacement is in the mail still.
I've got all the wires, .6 x .07 , .5 x .1, and .8 x .11 I want to wrap a 2 mm diameter and I'll be pushing the coils on a mech mod with a sony vct5 30 amp battery with my Aqua tank.
I'm thinking the .8 wire will be too large for this application and would require too much area so perhaps .5 x .01 is my guess but I'm not sure about the wraps to create 2 x 1.4 ohm coils.
I suppose I could just run trial and error but would like to save myself the couple hours of fiddling if possible.
Let me know if you think you can help.
Thanks

When I'm trying to figure out what to try and build next and with what, I tend to do the analysis using the "Steam Engine" It is a fantastic tool built by an EFC member (dampmaskin) that allows you to plug in different parameters and calculate the number of wraps based on coil I.D., wire size, target resistance, etc. It also has settings for multi-wire coils, ribbon, and can handle configs for single, double, and quad coils. (guess you can tell I'm a fan) What I usually do is plug in my resistance target, coil I.D., and select the build type (single coil, double, etc) and move the wire selection up and down until I see a config I want to do based on number of wraps, performance, surface area, etc. From there it's just a matter of winding the coils and testing them out.

Hope this helps.
