Tons of identical threads right here in the new members forum. WTA juice is a strong suggestion always, as is making sure you start on a higher nic level.

On the nic level, I would suggest you have a couple cartos with 24mg nic, and some with 11-14 or so. Why? Because you can use higher nic level when you can't vape constantly...and you can use the lower for times when it never leaves your hand :)

Edit-this post came to mind. Lots of good info:

Welcome, Milnerlady!
I said it once, and I'll say it again:
Here are my thoughts for what they're worth:
WTA: I tried WTA from Aroma Ejuice. I don't know if it helped, but I really like two of their flavors (Honey Tobacco and P38), so I use them a lot.
Flavors: Have a variety. You'll definitely want to switch them out.
Strength: I've used 18 mg mostly, but have 24 for those times when I need an extra kick or sometimes at work for "cigarette breaks". I found that using 24 mg for a break length of time gives me a head rush by the end of it.
Time it took me to quit: I vaped and smoked at the same time for about six months. The first three months were with a cheap setup, and the last three were with a KGO.
What made me quit: I eventually just got tired of buying cigarettes, so when I got down to my second to last pack, I timed it so I smoked that last cigarette of that pack before going to bed. I put the last unopened pack in my car's glove box as a "safety net", and there it remains. That was 7 days ago...
All in all, I'd say since then it's been pretty easy, aside from the 20 times a day thinking "time for a cigarette - oh, no it's not"...

1) You must be mentally prepared 2) You must really want to quit

In my case, those two were the key .. in 18 months, I've had 4 analogs, all during times when Jack Daniels weakened my resolve .. the PV not only provides the nic, but the physical sensation as well .. it can be done, and in my experience, in 40+ years of smoking, the PV is the best and easiest alternative ..

You say that the analogues have a mental hold on you, so I would suggest getting a self hypnosis mp3. I recommend Paul Mckennas quit smoking mp3

there is an Ellen clip about this on youtube..i bought his mp3 and havent had an analogue for some years, nor do i ever think about wanting one.

I'm vaping 18mg Peppermint & BWB Virginia 18mg. Sometime today gonna try NicStick Dekang USA Mix 18mg. Where can I find the WTA?

Whole Tobacco Alkaloid Eliquid WTA Aroma Ejuice
they sell WTA juice. I recommend cutting back on the ciggerettes as you vape. still plan on buying them for a little while until they just end up tasting nasty compared to the ecigs smoothness :)

What helped me quit. This worked for me, and may not work for everyone.

-Had high enough nicotine that it prevented cravings. You might only have to do this a couple weeks. It's easy to reduce nicotine but you can't increase it.
-Did not have my cig brand of choice around. In fact I only had RYO available which tasted terrible and was a pain to have to roll.
-Slowly tapered off cigs. From 5 a day to 1 to zero.

The biggest thing for me was not having my fav brand around. I might have had problems if I did. They just didn't taste good and vaping tasted better.

Good luck!

I'm a little bit different than most here, I suppose. I've had really bad bronchitis for years but still manage to knock down 2+ packs of Camel filters daily - more if I have a few beers. The "head thing" really got me too. Finish a meal, grab a smoke....get in the car, grab a smoke.....you know the drill.

The first juices I bought were 18+ mg and I found I really couldn't vape them. With the bronchitis, they would send me into coughing fits. Yeah, I know....Camel filters are at least that high, but I could smoke them, no problem. I found a few 6mg non-tobacco flavors my throat could handle and I liked so I loaded them up in a CE4.

It has taken a couple of weeks, but I'm finally at the point where I've replaced those "urges" to grab a smoke with a quick hit or two off the PV. The first few days I'd light up before realizing and actually put out the analog and hit the PV. Seemed to stop the craving for awhile. Now at week 2, I'm not completely off analogs (only cuz I have about 6 packs left), but I'm well under a pack a day now and I'm finding myself reaching for the PV instead of the pack more often. For me, it was just a matter of replacing analogs with hitting up something else in the same circumstances. Train your brain and you'll be reaching for PV's more often........just takes more time for some than others.

Somewhere out there
Here are a few tips:
Vape higher nicotine in am
Vape a bit lower noon to 5:00
Vape lower after that. (Helps you sleep :)

When you get those really hairy cravings of you must have a cig or die moments, tell your brain/mind, we vape first. Vape at least for 15 min. Then tell your brain/mind let's see if we wait a bit longer. Then keep on vaping. Keep doing this and see how you do. I used to get those almost panics of if I don't smoke I will die moments, but I kept telling myself vape first and it really helped. For 6 weeks I vaped and smoked, I was down to only 1/2 cig a day I said ok just stop going for the cig, they tatse liek crap anyway! LOL So it is ok wean yourself off too. Best of luck, we all know what you are going thru! bnrk

In my experience vaping has helped me better than any other nicotine replacement however I found you still really have to want to quit. I have yet to completely eliminate smoking for more than a few days. I first started trying while smoking and eventually I found myself going from a pack or more a day to 1-3, and a few days here and there without any. I found it quite difficult to just not smoke even with the vapor, and after about 6 weeks I started smoking how I had before. I've been trying to substitute a few times I would smoke with vapor and I am about to try and do this again. I am going to limit the cigarettes I smoke in a day and just not smoke, I've seen my friends and people on here do it. I got into this for fun, really no interest in quitting initally, come to find out I really enjoy and it works. So I decided to try and quit but wasnt really committed, hence my lack of success.

The first week or 2 has proven for me to be very difficult but going in this time I got a real desire to quit. I also got some juices Ive found I really like and am getting a new apv so tim e to try again...

I may be different than most, after smoking for 45 years I was at the point I did not like the taste of cigs but I had to have them (ranged from1.5 to 3 PAD). I did not start vaping with tobacco flavor, I did go with menthol becouse I smoked menthol cigs. I could't taste menthol for about a week an a half!! Then I tried fruit and vanilla flavors and a KGO kit.
That is what really helped me quit cigs. I could finally start tasting the flavor and the cigs were really tasting nasty. I am now 3+ months cig free and cannot stand the smell of burning tobacco. It feels great to be free of that large anchor!!

VAPE ON!! :vapor:

You've got to want to give up to quit. If you want to, it 's easy coz willpower will take over. Up until you reach that tipping point, most peope are screwed. The whole vaping thing tipped me well over the edge overnight. Never looked back. If that didn't happen to you, well good luck because revolutionary meathods of puffing away like this come once a milenium.

It really does matter that you go into vaping with the mindset of someone who wants to quit smoking. If you think you're just going to magically start vaping versus smoking, you are setting yourself up for failure. That said, my best advice is to make sure you have backup batteries, chargers, atomizers, and definitely juice. Also, feel free to experiment. Try different vendors, different juices, dripping, cartomizers, the works. It can seem very expensive at first, but in the long run, they will pay off both monetarily as well as health wise. I know I feel better vaping exclusively, and I definitely smell better.

Good luck, and better vaping.
