So I am wanting to get into making my own e-liquid. I'm tired of being at the mercy of whatever I can find online or at my local vape shops. So I could use any and all tips anyone is willing to offer. I am into desserts right now. I'm wanting to make something sweet and really smooth. I need help with where to buy and recipes. Please and thank you in advance. Oh and I typically use 24mg nicotine level.

what Dixie meant was ... your questions are all answered there ... including how to get started.

I figured that but am so new to ECF I wouldn't even know how to find exactly what I'm looking for. I know, I've tried. That's why I asked the question myself. Hoping to get an answer other than "the answers are already on here". But thanks anyway..

Wizard labs and Bull city vapor are both great places to get everything you need. There is a recipe section at the top of this diy section,as well as a few threads in the main section that have alot of recipes. What the people above are trying to say is,be prepared to do alot of reading here inthis section because there is alot to learn, and alot of great info posted in the threads here.Have fun and good luck.

IMO, one of the first things someone wanting to get into DIY should do is to download one of the recommended e-liquid calculators and play around with it. Learn how the calculator works and plug different numbers in, like plug in what mg/ml and pg/VG ratio you want, plug in different starting nicotine bases and flavoring percentages and see what the resulting recipes are.

This will give you an idea of what starting concentration of nicotine base you are going to need in order to have room for flavors, and how much pg and VG you will need to order. It won't give you hands on experience of how much flavor you are going to like, or what flavors, but it will start you in the right direction for seeing how the calculations work. Then, of course, you can ask questions here about the calculators and how they apply to real life mixing as they come up for you.

Go to the recipe section in the DIY forum before you make your first order. Browse through them and write some down that sound appealing to you. Once youve gotten some recipes, narrow it down to only a few to try at first. Then go to wizard labs or bull city, order you a small bottle of 36nic, a small bottle of PG, and VG, a few syringes, blunt tip needles and empty bottles. Be careful when selecting flavors or you'll do like I did and order way too much. I started diy a month or so ago and have over a hundred bottles of flavoring. Most of which havent been opened. If you limit yourself to ten or less flavors, and order small bottles of base, you'll be able to get your feet wet for relatively cheap. That will let you know if diy is right for you or not then you can go from there. A good calculator is imperative. It is also a good idea to make some samples of the single flavors on their own. You'll need to know what individual flavors taste like once you start trying to create your own juices, but there are some good recipes on ECF to keep you from getting bored with sampling singles. Best advice I can give you is READ, READ, and then READ some more of the diy threads. Dont be afraid to try it and dont get discouraged. Its easier than most people think. Just make sure you educate yourself on safety when handling nicotine solutions

Once you learn about it you will love it! I buy a higher concentrated Nicotine base and cut it down. I always have a 200 ml bottle of my prefered nic base which is 3 mg.

This way when I go to make my juice all I have to do is add flavoring and fill the rest of my bottle with my base. Very easy. All I can say is research, research...research. I messed up on my first batch and got way too much PG which made me break out in hives.

This calculator here.....eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator...is the best I found. You just enter what you want and it tells you exactly what to add. Good Luck!

That's awesome advice. I can't thank you enough. I didn't know anything about calculators for the mixes. Never even thought about that. Sincerely thank you to everyone who has contributed. When I first decided to start looking into it I got on here of course & with the number of topics it seemed like the odds of me finding the information I needed were astronomical! You've helped so much by just pointing me in the right direction.

Due to the discontinuation of my two favorite flavors, I am going to start down the path of DIY as well, OP. I am going to start simple - using a 50/50 PG/VG base with 6mg nic already mixed, 150ml bottle. I've found what appear to be good starts on both flavors I prefer (RY4 + Vanilla Custard, and Cinnamon Vanilla Custard) and am going the route that cocacola mentioned - mix up the base, then just add 3ml of the base to a 30ml bottle and fill the bottle the rest of the way, 27 ml, with the premix pg/vg/nic. If this goes well, I'll start dabbling more but fortunately for me, I really only focus on two or three flavors. I should have probably done DIY a long time ago as I love all things cooking and baking anyway but sometimes we just don't see a need to go down a path until we have to.

Good luck!

This thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...pure-vapes-has-3ml-flavourart-flavorings.html got me started on Flavourart flavorings and I love them!

Click on the blog entries for Headinclouds for lot's of good recipes. I like my flavor a little stronger so I usually increase the amount of each flavor by 50%, and sometimes double it. I'm vaping the Irish Cream Milkshake now (flavoring doubled) and loving it! Other recipes are scattered though out the thread.

Have fun and happy vaping

Celia, once you get into DIY and discover how GLORIOUS some of the flavors you can make are (assuming you're confidence is there in the quality of other ingredients of course) you will wonder why you've paid for your juice so long. Once in a while I'll still buy a bottle or two...particularly juices I can't seem to re-create...but for the most part I'm making my own for peanuts compared to buying someone else's version of "good." You'll love it!

Start by doing some reading. Here are a few suggestions.

Read my blogs before getting started. There you will find everything you need to get started. Explaination of base chemicals (NIC/PG/VG), Information on flavor profiles, What supplies to buy, why and how to steep, even a simple walk through on making your first mix. This will answer 98% of your questions and for the questions you still have it will teach you the terminology to properly ask the questions.

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

then read hoosier's blogs.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

wow one of the smartest answers from a new member ive heard in a long time , take note cduvall , most diy success comes from reading theses pages till your eyes bleed for me sometimes i even have to read twice then your mixing comes along good or bad practice makes perfect but choosing the right flavor can make even the most experienced diy'er pull their hair out not all blueberries or watermelons taste like the label says and given that to make it into something that you can vape all day will be priceless so learn all you can and you just might be amazed at what you can come up with
