Want to test some disposables

Hey gang,

I'm looking into making the leap from smoke to vapour. Thing is, there are so many brands of e-cigs and fluids out there that I barely know where to begin. Luckily I found these forums!

I'd like to test out a few different models/flavours without having to commit and invest in a starter kit with any one company. Having noted the sticky mentioning to stay away from free trials, I'll be willing to put up a few bucks to ensure I get a product/flavour that I can live with.

So, which companies do you know of that have disposables?
Thanks in advance! :D

The basic difficulty is that few disposables really quite match the experience with a given rechargeable. I think of disposables as purely something for a person to try to get a faint idea of whether vaping is an option for them, worth spending another round of $.
A full basic starter kit in the US, two batteries, charger, initial cartomizers or atomizers/carts, runs $30 to $50. Reasonable disposables seem to run $10 - $12.
Just build two more posts and you can head over to the Canada forum of ECF to ask there what some options are.

Good luck!

My first puff of vape came from the DSE901, and TBH I didn't think I could quit based on that, I could barely taste it and the vape production was next to useless. But when I took a puff off my Riva with a LR atty, the vape knocked me to the floor, even now I can mix up a batch of juice and take a lug that will choke me.

Personally if you're thinking of 'testing' the water, I think you should avoid the kiddie pool, come in to where it's warm and lovely, ok enough metaphors, seriously though try one of the pv's that are reccomended on here (no need to go crazy on the spend, $30-$50 should be more than enough IMHO)

EDIT: I heard recently that marlboro are like $10 a pack, that's crazy money, think of how little your 'test' will cost in comparison to A) the price of analogs that you're spending anyway and B) your health/life

I don't know where you an get disposables in Canada. In the US I know LiteCigUSA.net has disposable 510 (and 306 too but 306 isn't much sold as a complete model and you can use 306 atomizers on a 510 - really no reason to try the 306). There are some disposables at VapeSafe.com but I do not know what model - possibly similar to KR808D-1 or RN4081- they don't say.

Thanks, these are some helpful suggestions. :)

Even though I've see some people bashing the redundancy of the "go for an ego" reply in other threads, I guess it's because it really does seem to be right up there as the preferred model on the market. Is this a model that is marketed by several different manufacturors, or am I sure to get a true "ego" when purchasing this model?

Also, the 'classifieds' suggestion appeals to me; I didn't even know we had that going here! Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the direction of these listings?

Thanks again guys (and gals)!

The eGo, or Riva (first round knock-off of the eGo, and since then itself knocked off I believe) are indeed pretty popular.
In the US at least, the Riva 510 kit is pretty low cost, a bit over $30 total from liberty flights.
Riva has longer battery life than a standard 510 -- 750 mAh battery vs 510's 180 mAh, and even 510 mega is only on the order of 280 mAh (more mAh = longer run time between charges).
Riva/eGo don't look like cigs. They're about 1/2" diameter, with either gold or silver colored end cap. They are manual devices -- a little pushbutton on the side to turn the atomizer or cartomizer on (KR808D-1 has both manual and automatics, with auto activated by either noise or, more commonly now, vacuum).
eGo/Riva/510 classically run at a lower voltage than KR808D-1, which means you need a lower resistance atomizer or cartomizer to get a given output power (more power = more warmth/vapor/throat hit). At least some newer Rivas start at a higher voltage, around that of an 808.
I suggested checking the Canada ECF area to see what kit is readily available there. It's always nice to support local vendors, and gets you out of any potential customs headaches.
I've used 808, Riva, now a mod. Either 808 or Riva are fine starting equipment, depending on whether you prefer the KR808D-1's more cig like form factor and the option to use auto batteries for hands-free use, or the Riva's longer battery runtime between charges (I tended to get about 3 hours on a standard 808 battery, 4-1/2 or so on an XL 808 battery, and 6 - 8 hours on a Riva battery; everyone's mileage varies, but that's a relative set of durations).

The Apollo disposable is what got me interested in vaping. That's when I knew vaping would work for me and proceeded to order a Joye Ego.

Still love the Ego and using it.

You could skip the first part and use the $10 to go directly to part two. But if you want to give it a shot, that's a good disposable.

I completely agree, and I wanted to add that I tried a Luci disposable first, but it took so long to arrive that I ordered a Riva 510 in the meantime and it showed up the day after the disposable.

I believe that the Luci, Apollo and Blu disposables are the same unit. There's something called Square Smoke that is available at convenience stores/gas stations that looks like a high quality disposable too. These all last about a day and a half for a pack-a-day smoker.

Another unit at some convenience stores/gas stations is Green Smart Living, which is semi-disposable.

I've never been able to locate a Square or a Green Smart Living at stores where I live.

My first ecig was a disposable and I haven't had a real cig since. It was a No 7 Apple disposable that I found at a smoke shop here in town. You can check them out here. No.7 Disposable E Cigarettes, Disposable Electronic Cigarettes, Disposable E-Cigarettes

I couldn't believe how much flavor it had and it tasted exactly like a granny smith apple. Unfortunately their juice is way too expensive so I haven't been able to buy it but it did get me looking around at ecigs. Disposables is a good way to give ecigs a try, if you get a good one.
