Hi guys. I registered here back in 2009/2010(?) when I tried to quit smoking and try vaping. I remember I dropped a good bit of money in to a Vapor King and accessories but it didn't quite work for me. I didn't get a similar sensation to smoking and got some horrible headaches.

I stopped vaping. I didn't with 68% chemicals and tobacco beetles, and started rolling my own with natural tobacco. Still, I would like to taste food and wake up with a happy throat and chest.

I know smoking and vaping aren't the same and will be different but I want to try again.

I read some posts but I would feel more comfortable if I could I get some recommendations pointed right at me.

Thanks in advance.

If I'm not mistaken, the MaxxFusion is the same KR8 style device as the Vapor King.

Do you want something that looks/feels like a cigarette? If yes, then it will be more difficult to get the satisfaction that the Vapor King didn't give you.

You might have to look into mod types, but there are numerous ones. I use a GLV and an Infinity. The Infinity is a variable volt system that lets me push the power up and down depending on what I feel like vaping at the time.

I'll let some of the veterans pipe in with more recommendations, since they may be able to do a better comparison from what you had used back then. The Vapor King may have changed plenty since then??? I'm sure you'll want to use a manual button device though.

You will also want to try different nicotine levels. I don't know what you used then, but I use 18mg regularly, with some 24mg occasionally. That could be the key for headaches and satisfaction.

Good luck! :thumb:

Well I supposed we should start with what exactly did not work for you with your last ecig? I know my first ecig carts annoyed me, i hated having to top off every 20 minutes after beliveing that a cart would at least last me a "few" analog smokes. Also the battery life sucked, I really had to stay on top of keeping my batteries charged and carry at least two with me (had a Titan 510)

If you really need an "analog" like ciggarette then the KR808? I think it is would be right for you, a lot of people seem to start with it, the cartomizers are much better then atomizers with cartridges, if it wasnt for cartomizers I would not be as happy as I am with vapeing at the moment.

If you want something that packs a little more punch and allows for use of LR Cartomizers/Atomizers then try picking up a Riva 510/eGo. They offer great battery life and their are many options available with the 510 threads. The eGo/Riva batteries realyl are not that big, they are comfortable and don't look ridiculous when your out in public. A cartomizer lasts be about 3 hours constantly vapeing on it, when im working and am not on it constantly it lasts me all day from 9-5.

If its taste or something of the sort, well then your realyl just going to have to do some trial/error i guess, try different flavors from different vendors and see what works for you, seems a lot of long time smokers want that "authentic" taste, but most seem to start enjoying the different types of flavors that are available.

As far as the headaches go, try differant nicotine levels, you could also be sensitive to PG liquids, try a VG liquid. I know when I first started vapeing anything over 12MG gave me terrible headaches because I couldent put it down, but I use 18/24MG all the time now depending on the liquid.

I spent an embarrassing sum of money on hardware and juice in my first six weeks. A lot of what I bought turned out to be unsatisfactory to me. And yet, others find that stuff to be useful to this day ... for starters that is. Eventually, almost everybody moves up the ladder to bigger (more capacity) batteries.

An intermediate step I would recommend is an eGo-type. They are sold under various names besides eGo, but the idea is the same. They have a 510 connector which gives you all kinds of atomizer/cartomizer options, and the battery charge is good for the better part of a day even for a heavy vaper. I've got a couple 18650 based mods and I STILL use my eGo-types (using one at the moment). I occasionally still use a KR808D-1 too, but that's for mobility more than anything else.

You can get into an eGo-type for a lot less $$ than a decent mod. But, if money is no barrier, get something 18650 based. It's a beast of a battery, lasts me from wake time to bed time on a charge, with charge to spare.

And get you some Low Resistance (LR) 510 and 306 atomizers to go with it. Just one person's opinion. It works for me.

EDIT: A word of caution: If you get one of the eGo-types, don't go with an atomizer with resistance below 2.0. There are pretty convincing arguments around that below 2ohms you can shorten the life span of this type of battery.
