Ok so Ive been reading on here for months and Im ready to take the plunge. I do have a question thou. If I was to buy from Wizard Labs they mix the nic like you want it lets say 60 pg/40 vg do I still need to get pg/vg base or do I just add flovorings? This is kinda confusing me. Where as if I bought the nic base from RTS I only get 120ml of 36 mg. I am curious as to what a good base is to start I like 24mg. I have bottles, syringes been just kinda building up alittle at a time if I need both of the pg/vg than I can get it at the local Tractor supply store at least the pg. Thanks for any input. Also Im a menthol person who makes a good Menthol?

Yes you still need PG and VG provided you use both to begin with....it will become evident why when you start to DIY with a calculator. ie , if you buy 24mg base of what ever PG/VG mixture and you add say 10% flavor (most are pg based)you would have diluted that mixture to where it is no longer 24mg in strength. Think of it this way... You have a glass of iced tea and it is the perfect strength if you put iced cubes made of water in that glass, when they melt you have diluted it and it is no longer the perfect concentration. Now take that same glass and add ice cubes made of that same iced tea...when they melt you still have the perfect concentration just more of it. Hope that made sense.
Buy the highest nic mg per ml you are comfortable mixing with...Hint...... the higher the better. I started with 100mg per ml and did so in the 3rd week of my vapeing journey. YMMV again I stress safety! Not comfortable with that, start with 50mg per ml.

Menthol e-liquids are not always just menthol. I make a "smooth menthol" e-liquid that has menthol, koolada, spearmint and wintergreen in it. DIY section is a great resource for recipes.

READ READ READ in the DIY section of the forum prior to mixing anything....
Get an e-liquid calculator I use the "e-juice me up" calculator that you can find on this forum

I've been diy'ing for not very long but all I know is I order 100% PG based nic, and if you prefer to vape 24 mg. nic, then you might want to get say 48 mg nic base cause that would be a nice even number to mix with. I personally get 48 mg nic at 100% PG mainly because it's easier to me to get VG than PG so why not order my nic PG. Also I use the ejuicemeup calculater. DIY is very simple. It all depends on what you are vaping on and what you like as far as taste. I have recently learned that if you use tanks and clearomizers or cartomizers, you should probably do a 80/20 or 70/30 blend (PG/VG) base. I have also learned that some flavors I use 15% flavor and some I use less. As you experiment with DIY you will start to recognize by smell whether you should try a flavor extract at a higher pecentage or if it is overpowering and go for a lower percentage. I have mixed juice for friends and it seems that the ones that prefer 24 mg nic and if I use 15% flavor in my extract, I don't need to add more PG to it, but if you want to go lower in nic or adjust the percentage of your flavor extract, you will need to definitely order some extra PG. To play it safe, order more PG. I hope I haven't confused you.

READ as much as you can here before starting - alot of your questions will be answered. The first step is research! If you want to buy your base and not additional vg or pg, you can do that - but you would need to order the base in the nic mg you want (for example 28mg (which is high nic)or lower). If you are getting something like 60mg/ml nic from RSV then you definetely need vg and/or pg, or you will get sick from vaping such a high nicotine percentage -- the vg/pg will dilute the nic down to lower percentage. It can be confusing at first, but for safety reasons - dont start until you research enough until your comfortable. Good Luck - it is alot of fun =).
