Wanting to start

Hi, I would like to try my hand at making juice. Since I'm a virgin at this is there a good starter kit that can be recommended?

I don't believe much in starter kits and have not looked at whats available out there recently. I'm sure someone will come along and recommend a few. But in the mean time as you wait I can recommend some reading that will help with your research.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

You might try posting how much you're willing to spend to start, it could help someone advise you. Another piece of advice I have read is to pick out recipes you wish to make, and make a list of ingredients they require BEFORE ordering any flavors.

Don't run out and buy a bunch of random flavors. What you need to do is find some recipes that have the flavor profile you're looking for and buy the flavors to make those. A good place to start is to make some clone recipes. What's your favorite juice?

As to where to get supplies, there are several places. I prefer Bull City and e-cig express. I recommend getting the nicotine from Bull City and the flavors from both vendors. For VG/PG you are better off going to amazon (it's cheaper). A lot of people prefer Essential Depot for the VG/PG but there are numerous places to buy it.

I also recommend subbing to the DIY_Ejuice subreddit.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will check them out and do some homework on the flavors I like... Sweet fruits and cereals. I Vape max vg with 6mg nic. Since I have found setups that work for me the only real expense is the juice. I sub Vape about 7ml a day so the juice costs add up. I would like to spend no more than 50 a month if possible

If you like cereals, then there are recipes out there that are as good or better than the premium juices like Looper, Cereal Killah, etc. I recommend this one:

• FW Hazelnut 2%

• FA Meringue 2%

• FA Bergamot 1.5%

• FA Orange 1%

• Cap Sweet Tangerine 1%

• FE Lemon 3%

• FW Yellow Cake 2%

(FA = Flavourart, FW = Flavor West, CAP = Capella, FE = Flavors Express)

It is a spot on Fruity COPYRIGHTDMCA in milk. As good as just about any premium cereal juice you can buy. All credit goes to "Jackster" on Reddit who created this. People actually copied this recipe and began selling it as their own creation, which ticked him off.

Basically if you're looking for sweet and cereal style vapes, here are some flavors I would definitely buy:

Meringue - FA (a must have. Period).
Hazelnut (FA or FW or TFA -- any are fine)
Sweet Cream - TFA
Bavarian Cream (or the DX diketone free version) from TFA
Yellow Cake - FW
Fresh Cream - FA
Vanilla Custard - CAP (the v2 is diketone free)
Vanilla Swirl - TFA

Fruits are subjective, but these are good staples:

Strawberry - TFA
Strawberry Ripe -TFA
Orange - FA
Bergamot - FA
Lemon Sicily - FA (a sweet bakery style lemon without the tart)
Lemon - FE (people seem to swear by this for an authentic lemon with the tart. I bought it just for the recipe I posted above).

Blueberry and raspberry are hard. I've never had one of either that I really liked.

I didn't start out looking for a "miracle mix" or trying to clone someone else's mix. I just bought a few Loranns concentrates from a nearby store and tried changing some of the storebought juices I have already. Realized how great just adding a bit to a juice. I used amazon to buy my PG and VG so I also bought several flavor concentrates of flavors I am familiar with, mixed them up as stand alone flavors and they are good. Did a pile of reading, youtubing and recommendations from this DIY thread bought some tobacco flavors, TA and acetyl pyrazine . So far I'm only really impressed with the Hangsen tobacco concentrates since I have vaped hangsens tobacs before and like them. Its all user preference to what you might like and yes...you will spend and not like some flavors but its all a crap shoot. I've been DIY for a few months now with a ADV tobacco mission, not really interested in other flavors but a good tobacco. Look into Tobacco Absolutes, they are mighty good if rationed properly in a other tobacco mixes. I still haven't bothered making a clone formula, just still enjoying a flavor or two mixes but almost nailed my ADV tobac, just a few more % adjustments and I'm good to go.

Yep, and try to choose flavors that are intermixable flavor wise - what I mean is if you add a little more of this or take away a little bit of that - wala you have a new flavor and you can reduce your chance of getting burned out on one or two flavors...

I have only been vaping for a bit and doing DIY for a bit but there was a nice video by a man named Demetrius who had some guest speakers including a chemist named Kurt kistler On you tube I would send the link but sending a link is not something I quite know how to do - perhaps some one else could I also read much from the links by dannyv45 which I found helpful and the blogs by a juice maker named Bill -sorry I can't send links to be more helpful but good luck it has been a lot of fun and the people have been incredibly helpful
