Warning 510 adaptor kills 801 Batteries

I decided to pick up a 510 Atomizer to 801 battery adaptor so I could use the 510 atty with my 801 batteries. More as a backup than anything else.

The two batteries that I used it with now won't recharge, when I put them in the charger. Nothing happens lights on battery don't flash and the charger remains green.

I have to assume that because the 510 attomizer pulls a higher voltage that the 801 batteries couldn't take it.

I have two separate chargers so it's not the chargers.

current, the 510 draws more current, not voltage
yes, could be that a standard 801 battery is not capable to deliver that much without taking damage.

Is it possible the adapter got screwed on a little to tight and pushed the positive post on the battery in so it doesn't make contact with the one in the charger?

Anything is possible but I never forced anything and only screwed it in normally.

I should mention that one of the batteries is a manual that uses a adaptor to plug into the charger.
The other was a automatic that just goes into a charger normally.

you need to look very close at the positive pin thru the middle on both sides. there should be a clearish-white material used to insulate it from the outer, neg metal. if this is twisted, missing or damaged, notify the place where u got it from, its shorting out. this only happens 1 in a thousand adapters, if that even...but can happen. hope this helpped

OH, and yes, the middle part can slide up and down. use a tweezer end or similar to see if thats the problem as well.

Could be they are still charged.

Does your 801 atty work on the batteries??
