I am so disappointed, all that money spent on 3.6/3.7v rigs is wasted.


I just thought this thread title needed to be out there. If you are perfectly happy with your 3.6/3.7v dont do it. I cant imagine going back to low voltage vaping and that means I need to spend more money to get exactly what I want. I had a pretty decent setup until I decided to try high voltage, now ill never be happy with anything else. vaping a stock 510 just wont satisfy the craving anymore.

on the other hand for those of you who are unsatisfied at low volts and are considering going back to analogs this might be the solution for you.

About losing Money because of swicthing
I been thinking about jumping to 6v

If a person got say a PS USBpass
for 40
then decided they liked it so much couldnt they just buy a bare bones Protege . And be good to go ?

Because u would still be using the same Aromizers , Carts and liquid I just assume U would stop using your old Bats and chargers

( I'm assuming there are bats in the USBpass and U just put those in the barebones and U would not need a charger unit just put them back in the pass to charge)

if My thinking is wrong someone please correct me because this was my plan lol

There is always the selling in the classified, which has financed a few of my mods...

I only sell select items( a year down the road you may wish you still had that 901 pt ect! lol) I do sell liquids ( cause im a juice junkie) and sell a mod here and there just to try a new one..

But, ya know.. I still enjoy my 510... I just bought a 3.7 mod for it..

Absolutely agree. From the very first hit of a 6v (moved to 5v later) mod, I've never been able to go back to 3.7v.

schisim, ( if i am understanding your correctly).. the prodigy adapters do not fit the PS PT..They are totally seperate.. However, the new protoge's adapters are interchangable with the PT

The PS PT is not like a 510 Passthrough with an inline battery.. It hooks up to a powersource such as the kensington etc....

I switch back to a stock 510 all the time. I also use 6v on the 510/801/901, and then also switch down to 5v on those voltages. It really just depends on what mood I'm in I guess.

I'm the exact opposite. I'm using my passthrough right now and am actively trying to get it down from 5v to 3.7. I like my flavors better through a fresh battery. Going on a power source hunt this weekend.

Yea I love my 3.7....I dont see a reason to go to higher voltage. My mod does just fine with 3.7 volt with a 510 or 801 attie....good stuff. Im now trying to rig up an adapter to use on my mod for the cartomizers.....love those to

most ppl I think love 6 volt once they are exposed to it and see what its like. I am never satified with 3.7 after the 6 volt experience. I still do 3.7 but always seems to be lacking and I go back to the 6v. You dont knwo until you try it.. I know some prefer 3,7 that have tried 6v but not too many from what Ive seen. But each to their own. If 3.7 works for you, great!

I think this is one of the most important threads going.....If you are happy with lower voltage PV's keep using them.After switching to higher voltage myself I have found 3.7 still creates vapor and flavor,but no longer provides the throat hit I now need(the 510 may be the exception at times).Save your money and invest in what you are using or your current supply of parts and accessories may become obsolete....Thanks to the OP for including "Warning"The Wiz!

The problem with the protege is it is a 3.7 v model and will not fit 5 or 6v batteries. I was thinking the same thing when i bought the PS PT and unfortunatly I loved it so much im about to drop my paycheck when it direct deposits at midnight just to order the prodigy.

My personal opinion thus far is 5v is "THE SWEET SPOT" it has all the advantages of high voltage vaping without the disadvantages you will hear about with 6v. I have yet to kill an aotmizer and iv never tasted burnt liquid. that about sums it up. not quite as hard of a throat hit, but I seem to be able to chain vape longer and believe me im a 8ml of liquid a day kinda guy.

unfortunately I have had enough stuff fail on me that I know its always a good idea to have somthing simple in your back pocket and something else in a drawer.

I'm thinking about starting a blog to detail it all out, but for now all i can say is that after a couple days at high voltage the vapor you get from a low voltage device feels like cool air as opposed to a thick warm cloud. another good description would be drinking soda through a straw (3.7) and drinking a warm milkshake? (high voltage)

I still like the 510 at low voltage for the most part, but its not the same. perhaps if i started out with it in the morning rather than going right to high voltage.

Thanks wiz, I think you got the idea, im not advocating high voltage. as much as i have decided I love it. I really wish I had just never tried it. I would have been fine with a well built low volt battery mod like the VP2 or protege until I dove into this. now I feel like I have to have a prodigy because its the only thing that offers exactly what I want.

after my check hits the bank in 30 min Ill be 230.00 poorer because i tried a 20.00 6v mod followed by a 5v PS PT.

Note: im also buying juice and extras

Considering all this, if you'd still like a nice battery mod, but don' want to jump above 3.7 volt, there is always the VP1 and the Vapre51 (only cosmetically different, IIRC).

The ability to use relatively inexpensive ($7 a piece) AAA size batteries and remain at 3.7 v. Good solution all around, I'm ordering one ASAP.

It's also HARD to stealth vape at 6v! When I need to stealth vape I always use 3.7v.
