Warning of fake eGo/Tornado http://www.joyetech.com/NewsView.Asp?id=50

We have been passed on this message from Frank at joyetech and asked to distribute it to our customers.

Recently, we received a report that there is a complete copy of eGo/Tornado from other distributors; it even included the exact same case and manual. Of course, this was not approved or made by us, Joye Technology. We are concerned that the end user's safety couldn't be guaranteed if they purchased this copy.

We at Joye technology, cannot ensure any guarantees for the safety of this cloned product and after-sales service of this product. Please use our official distributor's web shop or their offline shops when purchasing the eGo/Tornado made by Joye technology.

In addition, the eGo/Tornado is a copyrighted design by Joye Technology is Asia, Europe, The United States and other countries around the world. I hope that the fake manufacturer stops providing copies of eGo/Tornado. Otherwise, Joye Technology (Janty Technology) will seek ways of making the fake manufacturer liable for the fake copies.

I just ordered an eGo set and want to be sure I'm not getting a cheap chinese knockoff of a reputable chinese product. How can we identify the fake products? Are there differences?

(I don't want to seem facetuous, but isn't it ironic chinese companies have begun to cannibalize their own economy instead of stealing patents abroad, like they did to Microsoft and others?)

From: "Lina Wang" <lina@joyetech.com>Dear Jason,

I read your statement. Thank you very much!

But can you do me a favor? Can you remove the 66 customer's information? We finally found he is one customer of our Chinese trader. He is health cabin's trader. I'm so sorry to bring your troubles.

We stopped to expanding more new distributors in China. just 2: healthcabin and heavengifts. Then in other oversea countries, we don't plan to develop more new either. We just want to cooperate with good distributors like you.

Thank you very much!

I emailed them directly to ask how a consumer can tell the difference or if they had a listing of their authorized distributors. I can't post that list here, partly because this is TW's forum :) and partly because there is a confidentiality agreement in the email.

I really do not wish to pay for something that I think is a Joye product and turns out it isn't. Though my current Joye products are just a Tornado and 510 atomizers.

This is the reply I received this morning from Route 66 Vapor.

"Hey John,

Im glad you pointed this out to me. Since you are a respected member of the electronic cigarette forums, I wouldn't mind if you came by and took a look at our inventory. This way you could verify that our products are indeed genuine Joytech goods from Healthcabin. Feel free to call me (phone number omitted).
