I have read and read, still have lots more to do, the reason I was going with the provari is because I had saved up enough money to get it, and i have read it's the best of the best, plus it's also well made so I didn't expect it to break very easily. Now many ppl are recommending the ego twist, I will try whatever has good quality, and would be less likely to quit working. It would be nice to have more money for the accessories if I did go with the ego twist, There are a few articles on the merits of the twist and what you would need except when I try to go there, it isn't allowing me to see. I think I haven't posted enough, or it is a closed section. Do you all think I should start out with the twist? and then get more tips, or carts, or attys or whatever else I need? Thank you in advance

The twist is certainly an inexpensive way to try variable voltage vaping. Personally I would start there....you may find that you dont really bother with vv and dont really care if you have it or not.

Buying a Twist is much less expensive initially, so if you find you don't like vaping, you are not out so much money.
However, owning a Provari myself, it comes as close to the ultimate in vaping as one can get, bar none. Not much that anyone could complain about it, other than the price point. However, there is no comparison in build quality or durability. The Provari could last a lifetime and can be repaired should it ever go down; the Twist will only last months and can not be repaired.

I have 2 provaris and 2 twists...I use both of the differently. The twist for me is a travel mod, and the provari is for sitting around working (I work from home unless traveling). The provari has a wider range of allowable voltages and is a little more exact in selecting those voltages.
With that said, I like what zuzette suggested, grab a twist first and see if you like the VV. It is a great inexpensive way to begin to check out the VV world. I would suggest make sure that you get an authentic Joye ego twist due to quality control. If you like it, use it for a few weeks and then grab a provari to expand the vaping experience.
You really cannot go wrong with either!

I totally agree in my experience I as well started out with the economic solution; as it turns out there is always something better that will draw your attention and $. If I had started with the Provari instead of the ego I would have saved money in the long run, but it is definatley your choice. I have found that the vaping world will always come up with new toys that I will want to buy.

I would opt for the Twist only because the world of VV PVs is changing drastically. A new superior Kgo VV just released but has yet to be reviewed. A new VV PV that's said to rival the Provari to be released in 2? months and costs less than 1/2 the price of the Provari.

I suggest getting a provari, at least if you're sure, that you'll stay with e cigs. I had to make the same decision and I chose to make a one time investion vs. buying all kind of cheaper stuff, getting tired and finally buy a provari anyway. On the long hand that would have been twice as much costs. I've been smoking cigarettes for 200,- a month easily back then, so what is a provari compared to that?!
I agree with everybody else. Start out with the twist, and if you like it, all your accessories will be compatible with the provari, so you won't have to worry about redoing everything. I had a twist that only lasted a few days, as it rolled off my table and started acting up so bad I couldn't use it. Now I have a gripper that doesn't roll
My Provari got retired after I got a Reo Grand! Hands down the Reo has better flavor and is easier to use and a lot less hassle than any tank would ever be.

Neither the Provari or the Reo has the ability to produce flavor. That is the function of the atty/carto or whatever the Reo or Provari is suppling power to. Direct drip your atomizer on your Provari and I guarentee you that it will taste exactly the same as it does on your Reo. In reality all a bottom feeder is, is a very large drip shield/juice well.

The Twist is a great little disposable Chinese battery. It will die, no warranty. It's variable voltage is not precise. I own one, and use it as my "to go" unit. It is charged with a USB. Charge lasts a few hours.
The ProVari is a US made not-disposable battery holder. It has a warranty and is repairable. The variable voltage is precise. I own one, and it is my "go to" unit. You charge the battery on a charger and then place it back in the unit. Battery lasts a long time!
They both have their uses for me. Whichever you decide, make sure you have a backup. With the Twist, that means buying 2. With the ProVari that means buying 2 batteries.
Then you will need something to put the juice in. Both of these models will use the Vivi Nova, which is easy to rebuild by just screwing a new head on. And of course the juice.

Honestly, where I'm at with vaping, if I was going to spend $200 on some vape gear, I would spread it out amongst a number of items (right now that would be a Versa, a Saber, and some of the newer clearos out now). And with the Vario coming out soonish, I just can't see myself spending money on a ProVari.
Anyway, good advice here, definitely start with a Twist or three, and then see if vaping is for you. If you become on of us, guaranteed you will probably be buying a lot more stuff than you imagined. Good luck.

I started with disposables then went to the ego c non twist, and I just ordered a provari. Wish I would have gotten it to begin with.
Or you can go with a mid level mod like this.
