I won't mention the website, but I recently purchased a mini eGo battery for $10.00. Thing is, I've only tried convenience store e-cigs and couldn't tell from the picture that all that was included was the battery (there was a complete e-cig in the photo and the description didn't say it was just a battery). I don't want to deal with the hassle of returning it. Can any of you experienced folk help me figure out the best way to get a charger cable cartidges/cartomizers, and ejuice as inexpensively as possible? I've seen the starter kits, but it seems like the cheapest I've found are $36 bucks and I really don't need another battery until I've tested the whole e-cig thing for myself.

Thanks!
You are allowed to mention websites here on the ECF. That is how we learn from each other!

I love those eGo Minis, and if you aren't a heavy user it can last quite a few hours of vaping. If you are really broke and just want to try this out first, You can get an eGo charger for about $4 or something like that, and a pack of 510 cartos. VaporGod.com gives a free bottle of juice of your choice with purchase of a pack of cartos.

You can also get a one time free 10ml sample bottle of juice of your choice - with free shipping from VapeDudes.com. They give out 15 a day, counter gets reset at 12 midnight Texas time every day (coupon code fbfree).

Hi and welcome to ECF,

Sorry you have had problems like this. You do have a couple of options, most places sell the ego chargers for about $4 to $6, then you need to find a delivery system such as a cartomizer or clearomizer, or Discount vapers sells a very small basic kit for $20 it only has 1 battery but it is never a good idea to have only one anyways, as what are you going to use as the one charges Mini Starter Kit - 650mah - Stainless - DiscountVapers.com

Thank you for posting this I now can buy a few of these to give to Family & Friends to turn them onto a GOOD QUALITY starter Kit

Thanks NancyR, for the link, this is a GREAT starter kit. I'm all over the DV site and and have never seen this. I sure wish I had known about this when I laid down my first $40 for a terrible starter cig-a-like at the smoke shop.

I love DV and Eric and the crew are great to deal with. I will be keeping this link and referring many to this kit!

I have never paid for a kit. I always build mine on my own, from the cheapest sellers. You can probably build a kit by buying parts individually this way. Don't forget to add up the shipping too though. Might be cheaper in the long run to get a kit. I didn't want the atty and mouthpiece that was standard with all kits when I started vaping, so I just got 2 batts, charger, 2 packs of boge cartos, and a bottle of juice to start out. Hopefully others have provided better answers before me.

Update (and thanks)!

First, thanks to Rickajho for letting me know that I'm not the first to be deceived by some of the sketchier sites.

Second, thanks to NancyR for sending me to the $20 Mini Starter Kit at Discount Vapers (Mini Starter Kit - 650mah - Stainless - DiscountVapers.com). I received it in the mail just now and am vaping away. It's a quality kit with a tin case, charger, cartomizer etc. Perhaps the 2nd happiest surprise for me though was how easy it is to fill. I spent hours over the last few days watching people on Youtube say you need syringes and multiple tools to disassemble, fill, and reassemble cartomizers. I wasn't sure I could do it, and was wondering how much more I would have to invest in filling suplies just to try Vaping out-
Turns out nothing! The cartomizer I received is clear with ml measuring markings on the side and all a n00b needs to do to fill it is unscrew the tip, drip into the chamber, rescrew, and vape!

I'm a big fan. Thanks again to everyone who responded, I hope to touch base with all of you in the future on various topics!

I'm in Portland, about halfway between downtown and Gresham. I followed NancyR's advice and ended up with a quality little kit that matched up with the battery I already purchased (see my update post later in the thread for more info), but I would love to know of any shops nearby where I can actually see what I'm about to purchase and ask questions of a flesh and blood person. Any suggestions?

NancyR has a good solution.
Sorry to hear about that problem. Sometimes I don't think it is intentional. I have seen this on other web sites unrelated to vaping. I think it maybe that sometimes they have an IT person who really doesn't understand the product. The input that info and they get a pic from somewhere and don't know they messed up.
I almost did the same thing. Lucky for me the site I went to had good presales support and got a quick reply. I assumed that a charger came with it. I've bought a lot of batteries for everything from Ham Radios to Special flashlights and cameras. It appears now that unless you buy a starter kit you don't get them with just about anything. Seems to be the same for PV's.
Nancy has a good plan. I was able to talk to a supplier and get a discount on my somewhat custom mix of gear.
Also try contacting them and asks for the other stuff and see if you can get a discount because of their mistake at the very least thy should if they are a stand up co. correct the mistake saving someone else from making the same mistake.
Be sure to mention you are new that may help. I've been pleased at how flexible the companies can be so far.
Also and I've found this to be very true in all thing. "IF YOU DON'T ASK THEY CAN'T SAY YES".
Just my 2 cents worth. Hope it helps.
Don't be discourage people are human and we all mess up. That is why they put erasers on pencils.

Glad you got that resolved and found yourself a wonderful kit via NancyR's advice. FYI: your new kit has a clearomizer. Best to research the maintenance of clearomizers to have a wonderful vaping experience.
