Was protank v1 changed?

I had a protank for a few months now, but the 510 connector broke so i bought a new one.

Both are v1 their box seems just the same, both seem to have a high build quality and both vape very nicely, but they are not the same.

My new protank has smaller air holes on the 510 connector, the glass tank seems rounder, the tip is smaller, and there's an additional piece of of metal on the bottom of the air pipe.

So what's up? Did kangertech improve it or is one of them a fake and which one?

Sounds like they are using parts from the Protank 2 now.
I know the Protank 2 base supposedly has smaller air holes to correct for what many thought was a "too airy" draw with the original Protank.

I can't put my hands on it now, but I remember seeing that Kanger had improved the design of the base on the PT1 and had begun shipping the PT1 with the new design. You can also buy a replacement base for the PT1. The airflow design has changed, tightening the draw, and the 510 connection is stronger to address the issue of the tank breaking off if dropped or knocked over.

One thing I do like about Kanger is they tend to listen to feedback and make changes to the products they sell - even mid-model design changes that you describe in the PT1.

Sounds like they made it the product it should have been to start with. Enjoy them.

Kanger switched to what I callthe 1.5

Still 1 piece tank assembly, BUT smaller thicker tip, it now has wings (the center post has struts that attach to the edge of the tank, where the V1 was just hanging in space) and the air holes are smaller in the base.

I prefer the 1.5 over the 1. But sometimes the 1 is nice with a home built coil and a strong mint for that airy hot OMG I wanna die from Mint feeling.
