did you go back to regular power mode or was tc game changing for you?

For Me, TC was OK. It Worked. And there were Some Benefits.

But I now use my TC Modes in Regular Power mode just about all of the time. It gives me the Ability to swap Any tank/Build to Any mod.

After receiving my nugget mod 2 days ago, I was able to give tc a spin.

So far, I can't say much besides I guess it works. It seems to eat battery life (maybe due to crap premade coil tank)

I'm fine with using regular voltage modes on my mod(s). I actually prefer it at this point.

So I guess, no, I don't like tc.

Hoping that changes whenever this nugget gets a TC update for ss wire.

Well, I only do TC with SS430 now.
Does it give me a benefit? Yes. It is consistent.
Could I vape with SS430 using power mode? Probably. But I'd have to pay more attention to the mod and tank. With TC, I just vape.
I'm lazy, just vape is better for me.

Once I started using TC, I never looked back. That's all I use now!

@zoiDman I use SS430 for my TC wire. It's TCR is ~50% higher than that of SS316L's. A much better choice because with 316L's low TCR it can be finicky in TC - 430 has been rock solid for me. Another good thing about it is can be used in TC or power mode.

Cheers,
Steve

I got an evic vtc mini last month, but I don't have any stainless steel yet, so I am using it in vw mode with my kanthal for now.
The tank it came with has a nickel coil and a titanium coil; worked ok, but I'm not interested in buying and throwing away coils.
When I get some steel I'll probably start using my subtank more.

AISI 430 is an interesting "Stainless Steel". In that it is Very Low Carbon. And it contains No Nickel.

All temp control all the time for me. I'm not a cloud chaser...single coil tanks at 20-30 watts, 460 degrees. No burnt hits ever. Now when I vape other folks non-temp builds I almost always detect a hint of burnt cotton (gross!) that I think most non-temp folks just consider normal.

I tried Ti but it imparted a flavor I didn't like, Back to nickel. May try SS though.

Bought a IPV 3 Li for temp control, tried a few pre-made coils and then gave up. This is when I just switched over to dripping full time after having enough of getting bad coils. Would rather blame myself for a bad coil and poor wicking if happening. So it was right back to power mode after about one week of attempt to like temp control.

I've had tons of dry hits in the past 6+ years but once I moved to Atlantis, then Triton II, then Cleito tanks, I haven't had any that I can remember. Maybe that's why TC just isn't a big deal to me. I've tried it on three devices and while it's fine, it doesn't give me anything that power mode doesn't. I wound up going back to power and staying there.

When you say no burnt hits, do you mean you're just avoiding the full on choking cough "this is it margaret it's my time" hits, or does it also effectively avoid the sort of gradual build up of toasted wick that can happen with warmer builds?
In TC, (provided your build is stable and you are using the correct TCR). You set the maximum temperature you want to reach. When your mod calculates (by resistance rise) it's there, it decreases power to keep you from getting any hotter.

I use DNA200 mods. They come with an adjustable preheat for TC so I can get my builds up to my set temperature almost immediately (usually around 420F for me) and they stay there. A very consistent vape no matter how long I hold the power button down.

Cheers,
Steve

Other than one 13-9 RDA on a Tube Mech and a kanthal-built Russian 3.0 (which WILL be a SS430 Unit someday soon), the rest of the Armory is all Ti-built and run on TC Mods. and,,, Lovin' It :thumb:

Go "back"? No. Hail No! Why would I.... IMO be like ditching DirectTV for the 13 Channel Cable we first got back in '73 ;)
Like "The Settlers" Commercials on TV.
The "Mennonites" of Vaping?
Milk the Cow, churn some butter, hook the Mule to the Plow, raise a Barn for the Neighbor, take the dark green Galaxy 500 Sedan to the Rural King and the Country Kitchen Buffet, and don't forget to fill the CE4 and strap it to an Ego. Shun those TC Heathens with their fancy-schmancy Vape-n-Mirrors English devil-Devices :D

No offense to anyone. Just in a humorous mood this morning and ran with it...
