I love the TC on my 650 mah VV Evod! @3.5v it's cool @3.7v it's warmer @3.9 it's w warmer still @4.1v... Well I don't go there.
Ive never heard of an evod with TC. I could be wrong but if its not a tc device I wouldnt put TC coils on it, other than SS maybe

There is no way any of you that say you don't get dry hits or they aren't an issue is using an RDA, unless you religiously drip after a few toots.

Nope. Been exclusively dripping for a year and a half. Dry hit count = 1
Dripper with a fairly big well, a somewhat economical dual coil build (26gauge @ 35-40W). If i fill it to the brim, i can even take a 20minute drive without having to drip.
Once you know your device, it becomes second nature and i do easily notice vapor production dropping off long before a dry hit.

Yes I admit I wasn't considering Magma type drippers or those that hold several ml of liquid.

I have been dripping since before there were RDAs, started with bridgeless 510 atomizers and progressed from there. I don't use any of those deep well RDAs, my preferred atomizer has a 1mm well (Atomic). I can drip about 5 or 6 drops, I'm about pure flavor so my tails just touch the deck.

I have a 13 Heavens & 9 Hells RDA with a 7mm deep well, dual Coil 0.25 R build and dig it immensely when the mood strikes. Agree, Dry Hits not an issue.
However, Dry-Hits are not my personal motivator nor in the least why I choose to vape TC 90% of the time.
Nifty little "Bell & Whistle" aspect of TC but IMO not a Core Facet or Reason to or not to TC vape.
To focus on Dry-Hits as the Primary Concern Pro or Con is to miss the Point completely. An obfuscation.
Again,,,, IMO personally.
Now, back to my 134 MXZ Mech and kanthal-built Russian 3.0 on a rainy ride Home :D

I don't miss the point at all.

I have atomizers that dry hits aren't a concern but still use TC with them, because this juice tastes optimal at 420°F and that juice tastes optimal at 490°F...etc. This is simply not my primary concern since I have been vaping long enough to know where to set the wattage/voltage for the build I'm using to get the temperature I desire.

What I can't do is see through my RDA top cap, like I said my preferred RDA does not hold a lot of liquid and dry hits are always an issue. I'm on the phone or side tracked and simply forget to drip, the last vape was saturated but emptied the wick so midway through the next...dry hit.

Sure I could use a different dripper with a deep well but why would I, a feature of TC prevents me from needing to.

This ^^^^^^^^^^ I couldn't agree more. Not all mods are created equal when it comes to TC. It's hard to find someone who owns a DNA200 who doesn't think TC is the way to go (no hate mail, I'm not saying they are the only good TC mods). I also totally agree not all tanks are suitable for TC either. Another common theme seems to be us that build are own coils also have a better experience with TC vs factory heads. Just my :2c:

Cheers,
Steve
I agree that the DNA 200 is great, but I honestly prefer my other wismec/joyetech/eleaf tc devices to my Reuleaux DNA 200.

did you go back to regular power mode or was tc game changing for you?

My first test of TC was the 40w eleaf. Then I won an Evic Mini TVC on the forum. I love the mods but use em both in regular mode. I found TC to negatively impact taste and cloud production. Give me a derringer or sub tank mini RBA on one of these devices and i know my vape will be perfect. The cotton lasts a couple of weeks with my same awesome 50/50 juice and when I change it out no burnt spots.

TC coils just seemed to taste chemically. I would try and wrap my own TC coil but I see no need.

I've not looked back since Oct 2014, with care and a lot of effort I can get OK flavour from kanthal but not as good or for as long as from temp limiting with little effort. But temp limited preheat is just so mega awesome it makes everything else an instant disappointment including temp limited devices that don't have it. I am to old and to ugly to waste time tinkering with something when I already have something else that I prefer by far.

I don't think, for me, TC alone was the game changer... at least not with Ni200. The switch to Ti and rayon was the true game changer which has since become more refined with SS430/NiFe.

Game changer? No. But a cumalitive improvement including:
.. cotton to rayon wick
.. kanthal to SS
.. single to dual coils
.. micro to Clapton or twisted
.. 510 tip to chuff
.. atty with improved airflow
Standalone, none are gamechangers. Together, absolutely.
