Battery connector went bad on one of my ego chargers. Thought of using the PCB to make a 4.2v regulated passthrough. However remembered it has a 500ma output. I presume this makes it a no go?

Not going to work. Li Ion battery charging chips sense voltage so unless it is hooked to a battery At the proper voltage it wont put out current. Reason being if li ions drain past a safe low voltage they can go terminal if charged. So if the charger chip senses too low a voltage it wont turn on for safety and even if it did the 410mA output current is not enough to vape off of.
Thanks for confirming. Darn shame to waste such a nice looking chip. Maybe I will save it for making a large mod with built-in charging plug one day.
You can make a passthrough using this charger, but you have to use a battery as a buffer.
