So you just believe everything anyone says? If they used paypal their credit card is not ever visable to the company they are buying from.

You assume to much.
I read it as someone used his CC and the charges were from paypal

Edit, plus I would like to be able to read the information and make up my own mind if the OP is to be believed

A credit card does not cost any money if you pay the bill every month (no interest will accrue). There are cards available for everyone, even for people who do not have good credit. They earn rewards points on regular purchases... for example: free flights, free cash, free merchandise, just from buying the same things that you put on your debit card, purchased for the same prices. They have $0 liability purchase protection against any fraudulent activity. You don't have to pay for anything unauthorized. That money never leaves your bank. There is no safer way.

Yep, i've been using the same credit card for over 15 years with no problems.

I, like some others have mentioned, use gift cards/prepaid cards. I do not link my true CC or debit card on any online site. Sure, you pay extra each time, but for me, it's insurance from fraud. The companies I use I trust, but it only takes one disgruntled employee or one scammer to ruin my life.

Get a Google Wallet card. They are free, and if you add money from a bank account there is no fee (currently 3% if you load it using a credit card).

If I am planning a major purchase, I will initiate a transfer to the card from my checking account and once it hits the card, I make the purchase.

The best part is I get instantaneous notification of ANY transaction on my phone via the app.

I have several credit cards, but the only one I use pays cash back to my mortgage principal. I use it for groceries/eating out/shopping and pay off the balance every month.

There are many avenues in which a criminal can obtain your credit card information, including infecting the victim's computer with malware that sends credit card and banking information back to a central collection server.

Here's some interesting reading for those who would like to inform themselves better on how criminals obtain your credit card info.

If you used paypal they never see your credit card information. Is the jacket listed as a purchase on paypal?

I didn't use PayPal for my purchase, however the jackets were bought using PayPal which I already called and they put a stop to everything.the items were going about 5 blocks from me and I got the address which I have plans for

So it sounds much more like a local theft of your debit card information, rather than the vaping website mentioned in the original post.
