Hi All,

I was recharging my eGo's 650mAh battery with the wall unit/USB thingy that came with the starter kit I got from LiteCigUSA. I had been walking on my carpeted floor with my shoes on and touched the stainless steel battery to turn it so I could see the charging light. ZAP! The wall plug red light went out! I could still use the USB cable to charge the battery with my computer and I got a replacement wall plug from Shawn. Still, words to the wise... avoid static buildup. I don't know if this would have happened if the battery wasn't stainless steel, but why take the risk.

Thanks for the warning. I suspected there was that possibility. I seem to be constantly loaded with static electricity. I blow my cordless phones out all the time, and am sometimes unable to answer a call at all. It's ridiculous and I haven't found a solution yet, other than making sure I touch something metal before touching the phone, computer, or now ecig.

Misting your carpets regularly can help. If I'm not mistaken you can buy antistatic spray, though I've found that water works fine. You don't need to go crazy; just a quick mist, don't soak the carpet.

I work at a radio station, and this is the time of year where -- if you're not careful -- you can get a nice zap in the lips from your microphone. One of the things I've found that remedy this is...

... it sounds stupid, but it works...

... keeping dryer sheets in your pocket.

Like I said, I don't know why it works, but it does. Try it out.

Wow, that really surprises me. I can see it causing to to drop out but to die completely? This is where I would open the wall plug and see if there was a built in fuse that could be replaced. I guess I really shouldn't be surprised as I work with electronics all the time. I guess I am spoiled with a special static dissipative floor.
