Within the next few minutes a link should appear on the below website to view the Utah House Business and Labor Committee discuss, and probably hear input from several vapers, about a bill that would ban e-cigarette flavors, smokeless tobacco flavors, and online sales of e-cigarettes, all while allowing flavored cigars, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, roll-your-own tobacco, and cigarettes (despite now being prohibited by federal law)

A link to watch the hearing should appear in the next few minutes. I will post again when it does.

Thanks for the link Placebo Effect

It is so apparent that they have done VERY little research. One of the speakers stated that from HIS understanding, the ecigarette does not have an on off switch. While some do not, that is not the case for all. They say that it is marketed just towards kids because of the flavorings. If they took the time to get to know us and the product, they'd realize that this is not the case. Many vapers here in the forum have attested to the fact that non-tobacco flavors is what helped them to stay off cigarettes. I know that is certainly the case for myself. I really enjoyed the committee's swift rebuttal of banning flavors just because kids like them. Guess what? Adults have taste buds too. That, and the fact that they realize that parents are RESPONSIBLE for their children. I enjoy that there are some chairmen, even though they don't like or necessarily want these products in the market, who know that it is our basic human right to have a choice in what we choose to buy and that they are not in the market to withhold, but to protect.

Y'all should really listen to this...it's very interesting.

Thank goodness, one of them said, "Well, what if that's what I WANT. I've been told [I can't smoke anywhere else], so what if I WANT to use these products?" and then brought up the fact that flavorings exist already in cigarettes and alcohol....and caffeinated drinks! And addressed the parental responsibility issue...good stuff!

OK I'm not doing this proceeding any 'justice'. I'm just glad that they have some open thinkers there...and that we should all not be shy about letting OUR OWN reps know how we feel on these issues....

Nicotine-candy? I just listened to the recording of this session. I've never heard of this. I find it interesting that these were developed by RJ Reynolds. I have to say, I don't like the idea of these. That being said, I would think that parents who choose to use these would have to be educated about the dangers. The same thing can be said of all household cleaners, prescription medications, and other dangerous household goods.

Hopefully all those images work.

I'm an adult who was a teenager within the past decade, and these products all look kind of disgusting. The anti-tobacco people are just trying to drum up a big controversy.
