beck means well, but he's such a guru I'm not sure he remembers having to piece all this stuff together! (Just poking fun, beck's awesome)

Thankfully, our resident battery safety expert, Baditude (who's on a bit of a hiatus, sadly) has a very nice blog post explaining all these technical terms, and how they fit together.

It will take some time to sink in, but look it over. Keep asking questions, we'll get it all sorted out :)

ETA: As far as whether a device "steps down", or lets you turn the power down significantly, that will vary between devices. There are just so many out there, and so many different kinds of questions worth asking, that there is no central repository that compares everything, side-by-side. Or, for that matter, spec sheets that list everything in a very user-friendly way. Typically you've either got to know the jargon and know what you want, or seek out reviews, or dedicated threads here on ECF.

Ok so then how do I figure out what I'm running at without having an ohm reader and not understanding ohms law or basically anything that you said . =X
I feel like a stupid girl that's in way over her head and it's getting me super discouraged.

It should be on your display on the mod. I don't have an atlantis but have been reading that cotton wick heads are on the way. I bet the flavor changes for the better with the cotton.

basically you'll want to understand how these formulas work...

and get to know your products and what they're capable of before you buy.

from the sounds of it, you got two good products but weren't aware of their limitations and how they work together.

all this is going to take some time to hash out and completely understand starting from scratch. stick around. search out the information you seek. ask specific questions. you'll get it.

(in the center if the circle is the value you'll be solving for... each one has three direct equations to get there... each of the equations are color coded the same as the value your solving for)

The formulae are the same, but I prefer the layout of this one...

Believe me, you're not a "stupid girl"… Most new folks don't know the stuff and unfortunately some vape shops don't necessarily take the time to explain everything the way they should. Lots of good info posted here. Just remember, taste is subjective. What some feel is good flavor, others may not. I can't stress enough "more vapor" doesn't always equal more taste. Different flavors seem to "pop" at different voltage or wattage if you prefer levels.

As far as not being able to build, any shop worth their salt will help you, show you, or even wind the first couple coils for you (while you watch). Also there's tons of videos on building that you can watch and some of those will help. Just hang in there, you'll get it.
