Bill, Ben has the exact same opinion on this as you(sorry, Ben), and it's a "bending-words" kinda issue...

It's not a big word as it's fundamental in this, and used all the time(and not difficult... Big words are "technically-over-dimensioned" words... Not technical persay, but an example is the word autodidact, meaning self-learned, not school'ed... That's a maybe slightly "big" word). Second, it's a really big word, as in a very important word...

Sorry for both bad wording and for budding in :)

I agree with both of you guys btw, as same context...

I'm so glad because I was getting kinda worried that what I was learning was wrong! Now does anybody know of a budget vv/vw squonker?

I know you guys will correct me if I'm wrong but here I go anyway to show that not consistantly using the same/proper terms really can hurt! Because I try to understand what what I'm doing I did understand the terms used above correct or not! The statement that confused me was this;

I have always used vv/vw gear for the year I've vaping & never understood the use of mechs at all! But recently I've been looking into squonking & getting something like a REO! Because of this I've been looking into mech mods & their SAFE operation! What I learned here on ECF is the RESISTANCE (OHMS) is probably the BIGGEST word in safety because it's the only way to determine what the amp draw you're batteries are getting & without knowing that you run the risk of the mech blowing up! So if it is true that resistance is not a "BIG WORD" when it comes mechs What is?

Electrical resistance is measured in ohms.

For people who get into vaping, who are not familiar with electrical words, the word 'resistance' seems to be an unnecessarily long way of confusing them when you could just as well have said ohms and they would have understood without first having to ask "what is resistance?"

But wouldn't a parallel mech's batteries outrun a dual regulated mod presuming the power output was kept the same

Conservation of energy.
2 batteries contain the same amount of energy, whether used in parallel or series, so threorectically if the power is the same, they both should run for the same duration.

Yes but does the conservation of the regulated only apply if the output was below 4.2v

edit:conservation / conversation lol

A mech is more efficient than a regulated, since there's no lost efficiency due to the chip in the regulated... I'm talking same battery-count and "wirering" mech vs regulated here... However, it will feel the other way around because the regulated maintains the voltage/wattage longer... To your first question, you cannot keep the voltage the same, because one is regulated and the other isn't and the voltage drops continously on both but is regulated in the regulated...

If you drive both your mech and regulated(e.g. a dual-parallel mech vs a dual-parallel regulated like the istick-100w) down to e.g. 3.4v, then the mech will perform longest, but with included battery-sag to boot... (Well, not if you keep the regulated running e.g. at 2.5 - 3v)

I knew there was a reason why i preferred mechs :D thanks for reaffirming.

If someone has to ask "what is resistance? " they have no business using a mechanical mod....or an AVP for that matter.

Please tell why!

Let's just say there are much better options, that are more professional and more on point.

That's a regulated mod, but not vv/vw i.e. no variability but fixed regulation... Or so I believe... Not really my thing(regulated), so haven't looked it up, except going from memory on some hearsay...
I was wondering about that 60w thing on a single 18650 without regulation! Time for you guys to fill my head with more good stuff! Explain please!:headbang:
