getting my new mod tomorrow I believe it's wattage/temp control if I am not mistaken although I already have a temp control mod I have never used it before and was wondering 2 things.

1. what is the difference between wattage and temperature when firing? would the temp mode simply just hit the temp I set it to and sustain that temp and in wattage mode does it simply just keep going up until it reaches the cut off which is at 10seconds on my device?

2. what are the pro's and con's of temp and wattage?

1. Difference? In Temp mode, you're mod is regulated to not exceed a certain temperature. But its not actually the temperature of the coils that the mod is reading, it is the based on the resistance of the coil that the mod is regulating the temperature (when the coils heat up its resistance changes, and this change is different for different wire types ie: Stainless Steel, Nickel and titanium).

2. Pros? Virtually you won't be able to dry hit with TC mode because the mod cuts off after the coils reach a certain resistance threshold. Another pro? You get a consistent temperature with your vape (it won't get too hot like in wattage mode if you keep holding onto the fire button). Some people argue that in TC mode you guzzle less juice and save battery life. I have yet to experience less juice consumption but have experienced a decrease in battery life, at least according to some of my mods battery meter.

thanks I am thinking of buying some wire and try out TC tomorrow on my new mod I think I will enjoy tc over wattage

I've only tried SS316L wires. I've heard that ni200 and ti are a bit more difficult to manipulate. With ni200 you will not be able to dry burn it like you would with SS316L.

In short I would recommend SS as your first TC DIY wire type, since you can do both power mode and TC mode with it.

don't know if they sell ss316 here but there is a vape shop downstairs from work I am going to check out tomorrow that has a online shop called eciggity or something if you heard of it they might carry it. I usually don't dry burn my coils I just toss them and make new ones. I don't do any fancy coils right now

I dry burn them before I install the wick to make sure they are glowing evenly and that I'm removing any impurities on there.

Im familiar with eciggity, they along with ehpro makes the billow rtas. Not sure if they have it but a few online stores carry ss316L wires.
