none of my mods have broken because of electrical issues, it's all been cases breaking or falling apart.
I'd still like to know what you are using that can deliver 4 amps!
Ah yes dual coils. Wish I'd never gone there. I've got a Vmax coming hoping it'll power these 2.5 dc's well enough to give me a desent vape.
That's about the top of my range most days. I run a 2.0 ohm hh.357 on my VVPV. In the morning, I'm usually around 4.4v and in the late afternoon I run it around 4.7v. That device only uses one juice (100% VG AVE 555) and ~11w is where the flavor begins to change. Any higher, and I don't care for the flavor, but it doesn't taste "burnt" until close to 12 watts or so.
My other most-used device has been around 9 watts since the 4th of july. I run a 2.5 ohm i06 on my REO VVW at ~4.7v. The juice is some DIY grape my wife's cousin made (I don't know what pg/vg ratio he uses) and that juice begins to change flavor for the worse around 9.5 watts.
Any mechanical mod with IMR batts can do it. And quite a few VV box mods with linear regulators can do it if the switch is rated high enough and also assuming using IMRs.
I vaped dual coils almost exclusively for about three months last year. My rough stacks with stacked lifep04 batts or IMR batts did fine with 1.5 ohm dual coils even though the switches are rated for 3 amps. They handled 4+ amps without issue.

but according to pbusardo's review, the rev3's "6v" setting is closer to 4.8....i don't have a multimeter so i can't attest to that
I usually run between 6.5 to 8.7 watts. However, Darwin can deliver! This pic is 5.4 amps, 12.7 watts. Not recommended.

5v / 2ohms(dual Coil) = 2.5amps
5v * 2.5amps = 12.5Watts
5v / 3ohms(single coil) = 1.6amps
5v * 1.6amps = 8.33 Watts
5v / 2ohms(dual Coil) = 2.5amps
5v * 2.5amps = 12.5Watts
5v / 3ohms(single coil) = 1.6amps

EDIT: Also the wattage calc with those (rounded/truncated) numbers comes out to around 16.4 I think.....so something is.... adjusted.

I was thinking the same thing. Also sort of wondering what version that darwin is. I recall from the big smoke tech dual coil thread that Stownz darwin cut out at 3.33 amps - 5.0v in to a 1.5 dc was the max.
