It's interesting to see my numbers. I've seen these sort of things come up in the past, but never bothered to do the math and see where I'm at... Using my twist at around 4.4 with 1.7 single coils, I'm at about 11.39

Close, but not quite. Yes you can twist the dial anywhere you want, but the twist is out of gas at 2.5 amps, and maybe even a less. Ohms law states that 4.4 v across 1.7 ohms creates approx 2.6 amps.

I was thinking the same thing. Also sort of wondering what version that darwin is. I recall from the big smoke tech dual coil thread that Stownz darwin cut out at 3.33 amps - 5.0v in to a 1.5 dc was the max.

You could use one of these

I don't see an extension solving the problem unless it's really long. I could use my gooseneck. I need side clearance. What am I'm talkin' about, I don't even have a Darwin so I don't have this issue!

Thanks for the info. That's good to know. I sometimes wish I could go higher, but found turning it all the way up didn't seem to make a difference. Now I know why. So if it can do 2.5 amps, and I multiply that by my resistance (1.7), I get 4.25. So that would be the highest... if I got that right. That brings me to about 10.63 watts. So how do I know if my twist does make it to 2.5 amps?

The arm on the darwin rotates. The extender I linked to is an inch long. It should work.

And... yeah. Darwins are hard to get a hold of. The lack of availability is a little baffling. If I had a product that was in such demand, I think I'd try to get some built every now and then ;)

Yes it rotates. Now make it stick out another 1/4 inch so I can swing a tank w/o any stress on the unit. These guys are missing the boat IMO, a very big boat. I'd have bought one a couple months ago if it was available, even w/the T-rex arm.

That is not my Darwin, that is one of a series of pics I found on a Russian site. I found those about a year ago. Even though I couldn't read any text, it appeared they were gleefully opening it up in blatant violation of the warranty and taking lots of pictures. This was somewhat exciting in itself if you're geeky, just to see the insides. There wasn't any pictures of them replacing batteries, or hooking it up to jumper cables on their car.

I wondered if they were using some custom wound atomizers, to get that (insanely?) low of resistance just for wild pictures? A VG-heavy juice would give it more visible vape for the sake of pictures. I blew the pics up, and there are no artifacts or obvious signs of photoshopping.

They may have been discharging the battery rather fast and popping attys just for the money shot.
