Ways to charge e-cigs in emergency situations?

Now that I've gone almost a month without analogs thanks to near-constant vaping, paranoia has started to set in -- what happens if I have to go an extended period without electricity? How do I charge my e-cigs?

This is unfortunately not a theoretical question in my neck of the woods -- a couple years ago, due to a massive earthquake, we went 7-8 days without any electricity. At that time I was fine as far as nicotine goes thanks to analogs and lighters. Now, the situation would be very different.

Besides solar chargers, which I'm looking into, I was wondering if it would be safe to charge my e-cigs from bigger batteries. Specifically, from the big 7.2v 3000 mah Tamiya batteries I have sitting around. These things are monsters, coming in at about a pound each.

In a worst case scenario, what would be the best way to use these batteries? Hook them up to a USB charger (like the eGo ones), and then hook the USB charger to an e-cig?

Thanks!

Here's what I do. I have a UPS power supply for my computer stuff. It stores quite a bit of power. When the power goes out I turn it OFF! Then when I want to charge e-cig batteries, phone, whatever I turn it back on (with the computer stuff unplugged) and charge my stuff. I have lost power for 10 days and at that point with charging ego batteries and phones it was running out of juice.

This is what I have:

APC BE750G UPS - Newegg.com

Wow Zoidman those look very cool and would take care of two problems at once! Here in New England an annual power outage of at least a week seems to be the norm. :(

Can't say if the Camp Stove works or not. But the Concept is Cool.

The External Battery Worked/Works Great. Charged my PV many times as well as my Cell Phone and a Buddy's GPS.

I picked up that External Battery on e-Bayfor 25 Bucks NIB. It was a Complete Steal.

I haven't had this problem yet, but my area went without electricity for two weeks due to a hurricane a few years ago. Where I live, someone sneezes and the power goes out! No extended outages since I started vaping, though. I guess I've always just assumed that if it came down to it, I would smoke and then get right back to vaping. Terrible, right? Maybe I'll invest in the external battery thing before hurricane season starts.

Some amazing suggestions here so far! A UPS seems like a smart, easily available short-term solution -- lots of power for PVs and mobile phones, though no recharging after the initial charge runs out. The bike charger is a really clever solution -- though it's not going to put out a lot of power, it's truly on-demand, and will work indefinitely (plus, I have a bike!). A couple solar panels would be nice to have also, though I'm having a hard time finding one that aren't small backpacker models.

Thanks to all, and keep your suggestions coming!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Before hurricane Irene hit here I bought a couple packs of smokes because I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep my batteries charged. Power was out for 10 days but the UPS worked. After a few days there were also "charging centers" set up so I could have just gone there too. But I was happy I didn't need those analogs! For hurricane Sandy I knew I was going to be OK--no analogs bought that time.

I did recently buy an inverter for my car though. Just to have another option for charging/using various stuff if the power goes.

i dont know if it has been said yet. but no. that rc battery will not work. you need an output of 5v. in order to use that battery... you would need some sort of transformer to cut that down to the needed 5v DC. you might be able to hook up a 'usb car charger' to the +/-. if it cuts a car's 12v power down to five then i dont see why it wouldnt work for 7.2.

it might not be as sophisticated as the chargers above, but i also see that you live in south america. you might not have easy access or be able to get these things shipped easily. i would think you could find one of these fairly cheap.

Let me google that for you

edit. just noticed you already said this. so i could have just said the joyetech wall charger has an output of 5v 500ma and left out all of the other stuff
