My solution to emergency backup power is this:

Has built-in 12vdc port, usb port and air compressor. Handy to have around the house and in the car besides providing the most important function of backup power for the vaping needs.

Many different kinds out there, some even with 120vac plugs.

I have one of those. It's an older model without the air compressor and light, but it has came in handy a couple of times jump starting our car when the battery died, and helping a couple of strangers out too, when I saw them having trouble (it was always in a parking lot).

One of these. I take one when I travel and a big $10 pack of energizers. For around $20 I can charge all types of stuff so its a small price to pay.

I have the same problem here, simple cure, a chap 400 watt inverter attached to a battery with a trickle charger on it as well. The battery stays charged when the power is on, and the inverter charges my PV batteries nicely when the power is off - lasts 5-7 days before the battery goes dead.

I also have a car charger so could use it if I had to but, prefer not to if I'm not going anywhere.

I have a deep cycle rv battery that I use to charge my remote control stuff in the field. Easier and better than burning up my car battery and no worries of having a bunch of fun and then having a dead car. I have a simple $10 alligator clip 12v cig lighter adapter with USB port. That thing would last me month if the power went out. Could also keep my cell, tablet, and even the DS for my son so he's occupado. Not pretty or flashy but a raw workhorse for sure.

Worst case situation, how about a hand crank charger. No sunshine, no problem. It would be like long ago as kids, in the summer we would crank on the ice cream maker till our little arms were numb, but did not matter, the reward was some fresh tasty ice cream in the end, now it would be a fresh tasty vape
