I've been waiting for the mod announcement also.
If it is built to take standard Li-ion batteries I'd go for a couple.
If it uses a proprietary battery I'll have to buy from another source. The standard batteries can be purchased for less than $5 and that makes vaping a lot easier to fund than a $20 replacement battery.

2 cents....

Why do "we" need a mod?

I have a mod in my hand right now that will last me 5 days between battery changes.
In that same time frame, using standard batteries, I would burn through 10 V4L batteries.
Then add up the replacement costs for a mod battery as I posted above and it becomes crystal clear:)

This is one of those "everybody is different" issues. While I recognize some people want higher V, more vapor, more throat hit, more juice storage, and longer battery life - but all these things come at a price and size / convenience breakpoint. I know there are many many people like me who are completely happy with the 3.7V form factor and the resulting vapor production; anything else is bigger, more expensive, more complicated, and draws much more public attention than the KR808 style ecig. I was only questioning the "we" part of the OP message. Vapor production, juice selection, and throat hit for me are fine as is, battery life is solved simply by having multiple batts, carto vape duration also solved with multiple cartos, my only real complaint is with defect rate and product consistency. Yes there are a few disadvantages in the current V4L product line in comparison to some of the other vendors, and certainly room for improvement, but that is why I hang around here - Steve will make all of us happy at some point I'm sure.

I don't get mods. I mean, are they e-cigs or another beast altogether? I suppose they do the same thing, but if they don't look like a cigarette, then really they are PVs, but not e-cigs IMHO.

I have no interest in dripping or re-filling or cleaning atomizers etc. If I wanted something like that, I guess I wouldn't have found my way to the V4L forum, I'd be on the model-specific forum for one of those things.
Happy with the V4L format, however agree with jamvector;

what are you using????

i dislike being a slave to the battery, i use 4-5 xl's per day, with several chargers. batteries generally last 2-3 months for me before they don't work so well.

It's a home made flashlight mod that uses a 3000 MaH 18650 battery. Pretty easy to make and this one was from a friend I made at a local vapors meeting. Prior to that meeting I wanted nothing to do with mods.
It took all of a half hour with 15 mod users to see the error of my thinking.
I still use the V4L standard batts but only when stealth vaping.
