Does it jump around if you leave the atty on the same reader and touch the coil with your finger? At this point its starting to sound like one of the posts is the problem.
try this: unscrew the 510 pin and the negative pin. Take the posts out (think maybe only the negative post is removable) put it back in and screw them back in tight, but don't overtorque. Make sure the insulator on the 510 isn't damaged and in place before firing.
There must be a simple answer to your situation. In 5 years of vaping I have never had anything like the problems you have had, so that positive pin must be shoddy.
I'm thinking the positive pin as well. Could also be something wrong with the screws on the negative post preventing it from making a solid and proper connection. I'd try replacing the screws first. Hopefully some extras came in the package.
