I'm hoping that someone with more knowledge than me can let me know if I should be concerned. The last couple of times I went to the V4L website and logged in I got those 'secure' and 'unsecured' banner messages. The first time it happened I kept clicking 'yes' 'view all', then I got a spam message telling me that my computer was 'at risk' and 'scan now'. I've seen those enough to know not to do that. This has never happened before now and I PM'd Mark and he couldn't find any problems. I'm concerned because I have my payment info stored there to make shopping easier. I've run my spyware and virus scan and all seems OK.
Should I remove my payment info? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you got spyaware/adaware/malaware virus .. That can't retreive any info from the v4l website. But the Virus Scanner box that popped up wanted you to clock on it to activate more of a threatning virus into/onto your pc - And if you have a Antivirus program - it probally wont detect this one - because this trojan virus will hide itself as a program and won't be detected .. These are the really pain in the a** ones to get. Let me know if you are able to do a system restore to an earlier date/time before this happend and or if you are limited to doing things on your pc. The Trojan/virus will block you from doing things within windows & will alos open up port numbers on the pc to talk to the host.. Let me know what else it did/or weird things that are happening..

Sounds to me more like you have picked up some spyware somewhere else and your system is infected. The fact that your info is stored may be a very good thing as you haven't entered any CC info via your system but used the stored info on their site. Some spyware may watch what you type in and send it off to someone. I suggest you do the following things. Google "malwarebytes". Download it, install and update then run it. Some of the new spyware is nasty stuff and actually will stop a lot of the spyware removal software from doing it's job. Hopefully this isn't one of them.
Malwarebytes is free software and I have used it to remove a lot of ugly spyware. It is great stuff.
Good Luck, I hope you get it clean.

Thanks for all the advice! I have webroot spysweeper with anti-virus and it did detect a 'trojon' a couple weeks ago [looking at a yahoo story] It quarantined it and I thought that was the end of it, but my computer has been acting a little 'off' since then. I never thought of a system restore but will do so now! Thanks again!!
Oh and i have deleted my browser/cache but didn't do java, will do that too!

For people having computer issues this site is a great resource of information and help.
Cyber Tech Help Support Forums
sign up is free, just find the correct sub forum and post your problem, they will fix you up. The malaware removal forum is extremely busy and may take some time to get a response but well worth it.

plantlvr: I've run into this before, but I'm having trouble finding the fix.

The next time you get this please post or PM me the EXACT message that pops up. Be sure to include any misspellings exactly as they appear.

I cannot imagine this is coming from the v4l website.

You gotta stop looking at pr0n! ;)

You nut! This ol lady don't look at 'pr0n' LOL!
I just did a system restore and disk clean up. Going to the V4L site now and see what happens. I'll let ya know...

If the spyware/malaware/etc actually got into your system restore you will still need to get rid of it. When you restart your comp it will be back.

I love me some porn:D Been married to long to not appreciate it's tremendous atribitutes:D

Anyway, I swear by Avast and CCleaner, both free, and both work awsome! CCleaner with clean out the registry, all of the internet trash, it's simple! I know people that swear by AVG, I haven't had that good of luck with it.
I disspise Norton and McAfee, they both have major software conflicts and don't work as well.
I need a Mac for my porn addiction, but I've reverted back to XP (Vistas SUCKS!) Google Chrome, CCleaner and Avast seem to keep me running:D
