I personally just want a very small low voltage cutoff circuit for a single high drain IMR battery. I'd be really really happy to find one. Overcharge is never an issue with them if you use a good charger, but over discharge is always a concern. Nice thing about using them with a boost is the boost will cutoff before they get below a safe voltage.

This is what I have used in a few mods -- from activating a simple LED to warn me of low battery voltage with the 8211 - to actually cutting is off (using the converse chip - 8212) integrated with a PNP -- IE when Voltage is good I'm On - when it is not - I'm off. Trip levels and histerisis (the diff /spread between the on/off and off/on) is set by resistors - you do the math . Pretty simple design -- one could also use a comparitor.

Sorry I couldn't fit the bill with your "small" requirement but with a little serching (or chimming in by others in the know) we should be able to come up with something.

Here it is in a 3AA Box I'm Building for a friend. Waiting on the Dang Switch for the voltage read out to arrive -- It was SUPPOSED to be done before Christmas -- perhaps tomorrow will be my Lucky day. Saved all the wiring cuz I HATE to redo things without a complete "rough-in"

Oh thats sexy. Thats very similar to the way I was planning on building my next mod, except ill be using the ti switching reg and hopefully a dial pot. But that protector chip seems like a very good addition.

Where did you get that reader? The only ones I have found are long and skinny, id rather have one like that. Also, how well do the 14250's hold up with that setup?

Google DS-BA-6S-MINI-CHECKER. They've been real hard to come by recently as we snatched them all up many moons ago. They only work with 2 -6 Cells. That switch I'm waiting on is a 2P3T that will allow selecting between monitoring the atty voltage both while setting and under load, off, and the conditions of the batteries -- sequencing Bat 1, Bat 2 and All Batts.

The Batteries I'd Rather no go there -- but for you I will - not the best (The reason for the voltage warning chip ). The switching regulator helps out wonderfully tho. They were the only ones I could use to get it all in that box. Plus they were implemented due to a challenge I posed upon myself in an earlier post/thread and by several friends that saw my original in action and wanted one. I didn't even have time to post this a month ago since it was snatched right up by a buddy before I could document it.

They are A Royal PITA to charge -- They cut off before full charge on pretty much every stand alone charger I have so I rigged an old 510 charger to do the trick. One might see 6 hours out of them depending on the your vaping style and demand.

Ya the 14250's are half a 14500, so they are Half AA's. And if my eyes dont betray me, they look like 350 mAh.

Yes and Yes

I have one (J3 - unwrapped) in my Woody and have run 1.5 Ω 306's on it all day with 2 800 Mah RCR123's with no problem

They are 14250's at 350 Mah - I should clarify the run time a little - I meantioned - UP to 6 Hrs -- one should get 3-4 realisticly - 6 Hrs MAX with the interuptions and distractions of everyday life -- Again this depends on your set up -- the Higher the Voltage and Ohms the better I use 4.9 Ω atties A LOT set at around 8 watts and they do quite well. At 1.5 Ω -- Hmmm --- I think that may be pushing it for the batts. I'll try to document a few days with it and fill you in later -- I GOT MY switches today !! Yippie -- Jesh, now I have to make 2 - one for me and one for my buddy -- Tick Tock - wish me luck...
