Hey all! I have owned 2 SBs a few years back.. ( chrome finish ) and i just recently picked up a painted SB.

As always, Its a awesome device! Since i have been off the scene for awhile, maybe some things have changed since i have been gone, I am not sure.

When i received my SB there was a tiny paint flaw, I put in a ticket and they were willing to replace it but after thinking about the wait time for sending in back and waiting for the replacement to be sent out, I figured it wasnt that big of a deal ( as i said, it was tiny and it seems to be smoothing out )

Anyways, I noticed just the other day when inspecting the switch i noticed a nasty gap and chip by the switch? almost like the hole isnt lined up. I have read that this is consider the air hole? am i wrong? but it seems to be chipping? Is this normal?

Also i purchased the AW 18650 3100ma battery when i bought the SB ( also from them ) and i noticed the top of the battery looks like there is rust? or battery acid? or something under the plastic of the battery? ( not sure what it is ) is this also normal? i dont notice it on any of my other batteries ( different ones from different venders ) the battery is also a week old.

Just curious if these are things i need to worry about? or should i have it replaced? will the problem get worse? or not?

Pics below..

Thanks

I've never had a SB, so dunno about the air hole, but I wouldn't use that battery. Or even put it in the charger.

Oh lovely! I have had the battery for a week! wow, ok.. hopefully they offer some sort of replacement for the battery.. I wasnt sure if that was normal or not.

The battery is normal. AW started use a flex PCB and what you are seeing is normal. All of mine look that way.
The vent on the top of the switch is intended to be there. However, it looks as if the dreaded hanger mark is there. Looks like I dropped the ball with inspecting the finish on yours. The offer still stands if you would want a replacement.

Awesome Chad! Thanks man! I wasnt sure about the battery thing but if you say its normal then i dont doubt you..

As for the replacement, I will send it back. My original issue wasn't really that big of an issue honestly and i decided to keep it ( as i said, it smoothened itself out ) but then after i inspected the switch the other day because my buddy noticed it, I was a bit concerned.

Thanks for swapping it out! I never doubt SBs ( which is why i have owned many of them )

I quit smoking about 4 years or so ago, Had 2 chrome SBs.. i stopped vaping and smoking for 3 yrs and now i came back to the vaping scene ( because i like to vape zero nic juices on the weekends ) and i instantly bought myself a new SB..

Thanks again!

I recall seeing you ticket the other day. If you like you can continue that one or start a new one. Be sure to point this thread out on your ticket, that way they know it was ran through me. They will do eet or face the Wrath I shall wage upon them

My bad, sorry, Chad.

No worries. The 3400mAh have a black "retainer" and do not do the same as the 2900 and 3100mAh cells. I would also like to clarify that the actual PCB is on the bottom of the cell and not the top. I should have referred to it more as a bushing for the positive post of the battery. The positive terminal will actually flex a bit when it is installed in a charger or device.
