Ahhhh, New York and Florida...that's the combination that screwed-up my accent. My grandfather was a New Yorker who married a Southern belle and ended up living in St. Pete, Florida. First 12 years of my life was split between living with my father in Mississippi and my mother in Florida (complete with all the "snowbirds"). I get the same question in either location, "What kind of accent is that?"

People moving out, people moving in! Stacks of shoe boxes at the dumpster... Shoes & boots still have clean tags in the heel, look to never be worn. I did pick up a little roaster oven... I have been meaning to get one. Dusty on the outside, spotless on the inside, perhaps from another hoarder LOL buy! buy! buy! Never get around to using! :p

5: I need to move near you Lisa, so many times you state what people just throw out. Where I am there is no such luck, trust me I look. Grab a pair of work boots for me if you see some, size 10 please.

It's the students... they consider themselves to be 'poor students' but they abandon everything each time they move. It's cheaper for them to buy new things than to schedule movers or find friends to help them move. You wouldn't believe the number of furniture and resale shops we have... the only thing we have more of is restaurants. I'm sure you don't want the boots I saw, although I didn't check the size, they were high heeled boots LOL

08/17 Entry #4 . . .

2. 8/17 - Apart from a few extended "vacations" I have lived in Texas since birth. If you folks haven't noticed yet, I don't use the term "y'all". I am not against others using the term, it's just not for me. Some folks are very proud of their location and linguistic heritage and that's fine with me. The only form of written speech that bothers me is baby talk. We are not infants, we're ex-smokers for crying out loud.

Nothing to see here, carry on...

SO . . . Goo Goo - Da Da . . . Ya' Gotta Love ME - I'm the Baby . . . That would not work for you then . . .

Although - I do agree with "You", it is so much better and even nicer to have somewhat intelligent conversations at times . . .
Just Sayin' . . .;)

Actually, I'm just rattling Uncle's cage. I rarely use the term in real-life. When I worked with an engineering company that dealt with customers from all over the world, I realized very fast not to use a "Southern" accent and regional expressions because many people automatically assume you are an illiterate, inbred idiot. In person, my accent is very non-typical. Some people even say it sounds more Canadian...go figure.

AH - As "You" can see - You will have to do much better then that . . . Try This

Dumpster Diving! Wifey used to do that when she could. We got a couple really nice antiques from that!

Yep - "Dumpster Diving" is the best - Actually, Furnish "My" First Apartment when I moved into the Village with "Stuff" I found on the streets of NYC . . . AND - Depending on where you looked - "JACKPOT" ! ! ! Just as an idea of what I found: Mission Oak Chair and a Rocker w/original leather seat too, Solid Mahogany Dressers and a Drop leaf Table (A couple of scratches - Yes . . . But absolutely nothing wrong with both . . Cleaned and sanitized - Great Find), Crystal table Lamps (very slight crack in base), Swedish Day Bed w/pull down sides (No Cushions - but transform into a Full size pull out for 2 with coffee table), at least 3 mirrors - including a Full lengthen wood framed one, Plant table (from a huge wire spool), Shelving/Counter Top/Work Table (From cut Wood that was just thrown out) . . .

AND - As for secondhand stores, first place I look when I NEED something (even when I was working and had money to spend) . . . Then there is the Yard/Garage Sales too . . . Just Sayin' . . .;)
