3. 9/5- After having some wicking issues with the Diver, I sold it. Not giving up on a rebuildable tank-carto, I got a Killer clone (much cheaper). It wasn't ready to use as-is and it took a little modding... but it works quite well now. The VVV tank's side-fill is perfect for this set up, but the XL tanks are about 1/4" too long and the standard height tanks are obviously too short.

Regarding the polishing, I have both the Dremel and drill polishing wheel setups. Dremels work but take a long time compared to 3" to 5" cloth wheels. I'll give it a try later today when I have more time.

3- True if you have a large wheel it most likely will go faster, but with less precision.

#1 I don't personally concern myself with being morally outraged or put off by the china cloning. Here's why: A person who wants a high end mod and has the cheddar to spend on it will seek out the original and buy it. There may be a few shady vendors that might attempt to pass off a knock off as the real deal, but those vendors would be quickly weeded out and blacklisted from the community. I've seen this happen. As for other people, like me, who simply want a mech that performs well and they don't have the $ to spend on a top shelf mod, we are grateful for the less expensive versions of designs that have already been proven to work well. I know that I am buying a reproduction using inferior materials. I know that one day I will probably seek out a high end mod and drop the big bucks for it. My buddy just got a Maraxus, and it is GORGEOUS! But I appreciate having the option to own a decent piece of hardware without breaking the bank. And as far as the high end mod producers are concerned, the word from them is that business has never been better, so I don't think the cloning industry is hurting their pockets. What it IS doing is making advanced vaping devices more accessable to the masses, which is a good thing in my eyes.

4- I agree there 100%, if you think your getting a 300-400 dollar mod from a vendor for 100 bucks and it is the real deal, you better think again. I have one top shelf mod, my SB, love her. I have my Evic too, no slouch by any measure, but not a top end either. I agree that the knock offs are great and get more people into vaping that might get a high end somewhere down the line.

I'm completely with you on clones... I do have an issue with knock-offs with all the markings of the original... counterfeiting and cloning are separate issues IMHO.
I purposely sought out and purchased a clone... (several, actually)
I would not seek out or support a counterfeit.
I'm proud to own a well made clone...

The moderators have a problem with these Chi-You clones as well. I can't even sell it as-is. Stated as a clone or not, you can't sell one of these Hcigar Chi-You mods on ECF. Reason #2 why I want to buff/sand off the laser etching. A clone is one thing, but this is way too close to counterfeiting.

#2 It's only a counterfeit if it is being marketed as the real deal. As long as it is clear that it's a clone and not being falsified as a genuine model, it doesn't qualify as a counterfeit, no matter how much it resembles the original. If it contains the original manufacturer's markings, that would constitute a counterfeit. And there are some out there. Its true. You just have to be an educated consumer and know what you are getting. Its not hard to discern between the real mods and the reproductions if you look. Its just like any other product out there. And, like I said, I don't concern myself with the politics of it. As long as it vapes well and I know what I'm getting, that's all I ask.

5- I agree clones are good, counterfeits are bad. JPF, just sport fishing, I do that when I fish the river here, but the Potomac is nasty and the fish are not worth eating due to the pollution in the river. Now there are lots of other places to fish here that are great eating and fishing and we will hit those spots up as much as possible.

I agree with all of that, but you can't sell these or run a co-op for them on ECF with the logos and numbers as they are. So say the moderators, and I don't like arguing with them. I'll get back to this topic after some sanding and/or polishing.
