Picked up some "organic" cotton balls today in anticipation of my incoming Fogger V2... But I see the bag mentions they were bleached with hydrogen peroxide. That has me a little concerned.

Boiling cotton balls feels like it would be a huge mess... Mushy!

Why was I never this concerned about what went into my lungs when I smoked?

Boiling cotton balls feels like it would be a huge mess... Mushy!

Why was I never this concerned about what went into my lungs when I smoked?

I still can't get anyone to explain to me why organic cotton would be better than the regular non-dyed stuff after I boil it twice for 15 minutes. That's assuming anyone is checking on just how "organic" the cotton is not to mention what their definition of "organic" means in this context. There are organic pesticides that I would never want to inhale, which is why I would boil all wicking material in distilled water a couple of times. I don't like the poison makers either, but a little evidence on this "organic" cotton thing is all I'm asking for. If we're going to get scared of how the cotton is grown, shouldn't we be even more concerned with the filler material in cartomizers? Just sayin'.

Hmm.... Good point on carto filling. Though I do doubt they soak it in hydrogen peroxide first. But still...

Either way... Safe over sorry. 20 cotton balls are currently on their second round of boiling.

No Need to Worry - Cotton is a vegetable fiber and they only are bleaching the "Natural" color (which is usually a light brown/greyish) out of the cotton during the "ginning" process . . .

Or Most People would not use them, especially when applying certain Liquids and/or Creams to their skin . . .

Also - "Hydrogen Peroxide" - is an "Oxidizer" and due to its oxidizing properties, hydrogen peroxide is often used as a bleach or cleaning agent. . . . As they do in both the Medical & Cosmetology Professions (BTW: it is even used with other chemicals to "Safely" Bleach Hair too and to remove Blood/Dry Blood from clothing . . . ) . . .

Just Sayin' . . .
